CMC or Javonte: Straight up trade value

Who do you want if this is an off-season trade offer?

Javonte Williams or CMC?

Assume standard 12tm/.5ppr/2rb-2wr-1te-2flx. Standard middle of the pack contender, like the 3rd-5th best team in the league.

Tough call here. Williams has the age on his side and CMC has had serious issues staying on the field the last couple years. It could easily backfire but I would rather have Williams at this point if I was anything but a very serious contender. If I were rebuilding and moving CMC for Williams I would sure try to get something added if it were an option. CMC could easily be the #1 overall RB in 2022 with health but if he has another injury plagued season, his value will be very low based on age.

I just can't see myself trading CMAC for a RB I am not sure will ever be a 3 down back. I think I'd rather have the 1-2 years of potential CMAC dominance over 4-5 years of RB2 numbers

Javonte hype is out of control…. I see him as more of a mid- low end RB1 rather than a top 5 guy. BUT he is a safer option at this point than CMC due to age and injury history. I think I want CMC still, whether competing or not, because I think by mid season 2022 the conversation will be “How many firsts should I add to Javonte to get CMC?”

CMC if contending. Due to his injury risk, if I’m rebuilding I trade him now rather than waiting until mid-season to try and get more…and I’d take Javonte plus a 2nd if rebuilding.
