So Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers and Brady are all out for a guy with a 97.7 QB rating(11th among starters) because he looked great vs the Raiders secondary and hit 5000yds passing? I mean I like him and he is definitely good but lets keep things in perspective. Most at least waited until Mahomes was tossing single digit INT's before people went there.

Jimmy g is going to be a starter somewhere next year.
No doubt
Maybe even the 49’s
Jimmy G will eventually revert to the same QB who forced the 49ers to draft Trey Lance. Yeah, he had a nice game, but let's get back to earth.

If you watched the whole game Jimmy very much did not have a nice game. He has INCREDIBLE weapons, run game, play calling. He is the weakest link on the Niners, and us fans desperately want him out of town. He is not good at football, he threw 4-5 inexcusable high school level passes yesterday, and now he is getting praise from those that didn’t watch the game but saw that he completed a few easy passes late in the game with an all star cast surrounding him, holding his hand, begging him to just make the simplest of throws, which he barely was able to do.

Any team that brings him on as a starter is in for nothing but pain. He lost us(SF) the Super Bowl single handedly with a tier 1 defense, tier 1 OL, tier 1 running game, tier 1 play calling on both sides of the ball in 2019. Good riddance please be gone Jimmy, please.

Chargers have a history of beating themselves, but that was next level.
I don't think it mattered, there were about 4 seconds left on the play clock. I believe the Raiders planned to run the ball and kick if they got the first down, punt if they didn't at that point. However going for it inside your own 20 in a a close game in the 3rd quarter is next level stupid without a doubt. He cost them the Chiefs game, and IMO this game. He's not a good coach.

EDIT: The time out certainly didn't help, but it's just a questionable decision in a long list of them. They lost at least 2 games this year due to the HC, IMO. They need to upgrade there. Herbert is the real deal, Staley isn't the reason for his success. The fact the Chargers didn't make the playoffs, and the way they didn't make it, with dumb HC decisions costing them wins vs 2 divisional opponents, I would move on from him. Simply not good enough with this team, and he's holding them back.
Staley was a defensive coach. Ignoring the Chargers' defensive struggles this year, I wonder who makes these aggressive 4th down calls. It pushes Herbert's value up, but passing on FG attempts for 4th down conversion attempts undercuts their kicker's value, despite being a prolific offense.

dondickenson, tell us what you really think!

He is actually good at football. His record speaks for itself. Perfect, of course not but it is easy to find issues with every single QB in the league especially going against that defense.

Put simply, the only reason the 49's are in the playoffs is because for the first time in his coaching history in the NFL Sean McVay's team lost after leading at 1/2 time. McVay is now 45-1 after halftime.

Lance may be the future but today it is obvious the QB with the messed up thumb is better in the eyes of the coaches at this point. His record is now 31-14 with San Fran.

Jimmy G was amazing in the two minute offense yesterday.

I watched every play of the game and Jimmy G. lit them up when it was absolutely needed. Thinking you win that game and advance without him yesterday would be silly.

The coaches seemed to know what they were doing.

He does have great weapons. You won't find a bigger fan of Deebo than me and I have taken some grief when I argued he is top quality dynasty pick in a thread here a while back but Jimmy knows how to get that offense on the same page and it is obvious the team plays really hard when he is under center.

These are just two of his TERRIBLE throws yesterday. A toss up to nobody that would get your normal high school JV level QB pulled, and an awful decision to throw into triple coverage and place it a good yard plus behind your guy right at the best corner in the league. Jimmy G is so bad it is impossible to overstate.

What do we learn from Jimmy G? If NE is trading a QB DO NOT ACQUIRE HIM! Outside Brady anyone leaving that system is trash.

2 for 2 at making the playoffs when healthy. What a bum.

Jimmy is 100% a bum. He isn't as bad as Nick Mullens but Niners would have been better with Goff, or Minshew, or Fitzpatrick, or Daniel Jones, or Sam Darnold, or Mitch Trubisky. Niners fans have pined for guys like this with the roster and coaching surrounding Jimmy. The org tried to get Cousins, tried to get Stafford, then paid up 3x1sts for super raw 20 year old Trey Lance to move off of Jimmy. Jimmy has played in two great situations in his career in NE and SF. His career per game averages are: 15.2/22.5 for 188 yards, 1.1 TD, 0.6 INT, 0.4 Fumbles, He bad.

:o :o :o :o

WOW.

That is one impressive list of the damned - and easily one of the craziest things I've read here today.

Jimmy might not have the upside to get you over the hump to win the big one... but I don't know what you've seen out of Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, or Trubisky to warrant this sort of drive-by attempted murder. This is outright slander!

I'm 100% correct about this. Jimmy is bad. Even in historically good situations in NE and SF, his per game numbers are no better than any of these guys, and significantly worse than some. There really is no better QB situation to be in in the NFL than in SF under Shanahan. Shanahan made RGIII look like a god, made Matt Ryan into an MVP, has surrounded Jimmy with an elite OL, elite TE, elite rushing game, elite WRs. And yet, Jimmy plays like absolute dog bleep. He is very, very not good. Take it from a lifelong Niners fan and former season ticket holder when at Candlestick, Jimmy is a nice guy, he just sucks at football.

No need to even argue this anymore, if you don't already know this you either haven't paid attention, don't know the Niners, or don't know football. Not gonna engage with anyone in those categories on this subject.

I look forward to his continued posts during the Trey Lance era.
