Your Best and Worst Move This Year

Postby NWABCS » Wed Dec 29, 2021 7:35 am

What has been your best and worst move this year?

My best:
1. My 2021 draft in league two. I waited until draft to see how things shook out and through a trade so someone could jump ahead of another owner to draft Zach Wilson, I ended up with Fields, Lance, Javonte, Waddle, Devonta Smith. Eventually moved Fields and through a series of trades turned that in to Lamar Jackson.

My worst:
1. Also league 2 in sig: Thinking Saquon Barkley was going to return back to form. In September, I had an offer of a 1st in 2022 (ended up 1.5) or a 1st, 2nd, 4th in 2023. Turned them down. I ended up dumping him for 2.3 and 2.6 with a 3 in 2023.

Traded a bunch of pieces (2nd, Fant, Danny Dimes) to get a 1st. Then used that 1st and another 1st along with AJ Dillon and Jeudy for Kamara and Cooper. Probably would've whiffed on my late 1sts per usual and Kamara and Cooper have given me solid performances en route to another champ appearance. Going for 3 ships in 4 years.

Worst trade was probably when I moved Cooks and Elijah Mitchell for Bateman and Ingram. I knew I was giving up value but could never get decent value for Cooks and thought Mitchell was just another SF RB. I saw great things from Bateman and wanted him before it was too late. I also wanted to cuff Kamara. Bateman has kind of fallen off since then, even before Lamar went down and I haven't needed Ingram. Here's hoping Bateman can get back on track

Other worst move may be drafting Terrace Marshall everywhere. I thought he was good value mid to late 2nd. Even traded a 2022 2nd to get him late 2nd this year

Best: Traded away Michael Thomas right before season started. Package deal that returned Diontae Johnson to me.

Worst: Early season traded Kupp for Zach Wilson (week 3 or 4?). Wanted to add another QB for SF league as my options had lots of question marks. Could likely have gotten a much better QB prospect than Wilson for him now.
12 Team PPR, SF, TEP (2 PPR)

QB - Burrow, Prescott, Cousins
RB - Jacobs, Etienne, Kamara, Hubbard, Ford, Gibson, Dobbins, CEH, Hunt
WR - Chase, Lamb, Metcalf, Diontae, Ridley, Bateman, Thielen, Iosivas, Charlie Jones, Derius Davis, Rakim Jarrett
TE - Kincaid, Goedert, Fant, Jelani Woods

First year of dynasty, having a blast

Worst - my entire startup draft. Also turned down an offer mid summer around the Akers injury: Deebo for my Henderson and Shenault. No idea what I was thinking. Ah wells

Best, imo since im rebuilding already - Moved Henderson, Kamara, and Kittle for J Jefferson, Pitts, 2023 1st (most likely mid)

Best:
got rid of Barkley in the beginning of the season:
Barkley + Sam Darnold for 3 firsts, which were projected to be late (16teamer), but turned out to be #4, #7 and #11

Worst:
during the rookie draft instead of trading up from 9 to 8 (Waddle was still on the board) for #17, I traded down from 9 to 15 for a late second and Sam Darnold. I thought Bateman would fell to me (would have taken him at 9 anyways) and for some reason I wanted him more than Waddle.

Love the sell. Basically any RB should be three 1sts - with a few, few exceptions.

Best: trading a 3rd and a 4th for a late 3rd to pick up Rhamondre Stevenson

Or picking Penny up off waivers.

Worst: Higgins and my 1st (1.13 or 1.14 so not catastrophic) for Barkley. 14 teamer so RBs are like gold dust.

Higgins wasn't starting for me though. Nor is Barkley now!

My most impactful move was probably moving Carr and Pittman for Hurts. My other QB is Ryan and this was my main weakness and have had QB1 finishes most weeks even though the first 3 quarters can be very stressful! At the time Pittman was my WR7
Team 1: Superflex PPR. 35 keeper. 1 qb, 1 Superflex, 2 rb, 2wr, 4 flex, 1 te

TE: Kelce, Waller, Tonyan, Brate, Taysom

Team 2. PPR. 14 teamer. 1qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 2 wr/rb, 1 wr/te 1 te, k, p, various IDP
QB: Hurts, Ryan, Watson
RB: Barkley, Mixon, CEH, Penny, Gibson, Hunt
Rhamondre
WR: Hill, Adams, Chase, Brown, Toney, Chark, Gage, Campbell, OBJ, Reagor, Mims, Marshall, Wandale, Bell,

Not a super exciting year for me, though I heavily invested in waddle in a couple leagues both dynasty and redraft.

Best move was probably in a 14 team SF snap accepting receivinging 2022 2.01 for Tyrod from a desperate playoff contending team (it was not his own pick but the pick of the guy obviously getting the 2.01). I had previously moved my mid 22 2nd for heinekie.

Another good one was picking up d'Ernest johnson.and starting him that first blowup week. Ended up getting an offer to send him for amon-ra st. Brown and snap accepted that one.

Notable mention was sending Monty for DJM last off season (team 2 in signature). Slightly regret this only because due to injuries it's gonna be hard for me to repeat,. It as long as cook and swift play this week I should be fine. It turned out that the WR depth was important for me this year with injuries to several of my wrs and QBs.

Worst move:
Don't think I made any bad moves, but I have two tbd moves:
moved 2021 1.12 & cousins for Watson in a 12 team SF league (#2 in sig)
Moved 2021 1.04 & tua for Watson in a 14 team SF league (team #3 in sig)

Best was probably drafting Elijah Mitchell in 4 out of 6 leagues

Worst was panic selling Hurts After I watched him play earlier in the season. It was the first time I actually watched him play and it hurt my eyes. I likely would’ve had a shot at the finals had I kept him.

Best may have been drafting or adding Darrell Williams in all my leagues. People seemed to ignore him. Gotten a lot of quality starts.

Worst may have been trusting Cam Newton to have a high floor. It's pretty low when he gets benched.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Best - found it somewhat easy to trade out of injured RBs at the start of the season for win now/good prospects.

Akers, R Moore and R Tonyan for Swift
Etienne, R Stevenson for D Mont

Worst
Dropped Eli Mitchell to pick up Ebron

Best:
1. Trading away Rondale + sermon + late 2022 2 (12tm SF) and getting back Javonte

2. This was good until the knee issue: Trading away Lamb for Godwin + 2022 1 (ended up as 1.03; same league and trade partner as trade 1)

3. Trading away Hopkins and getting back Waller + 2022 1 (ended up as 1.04)

Worst:
1. Turning down AJB + Andrews + 2023 1 (prolly 1.01-1.03 range) for my Lamb + Hock + 2023 2 (same owner as the aforementioned 1)

2. Turning down giving away CEH for the same aforementioned 1st
