What we paying for TLaw in SF?

Postby burntfire » Mon Dec 13, 2021 1:30 pm

Thinking about sending out some feelers for the TLaw owners to see if they're over him.

What's his going rate right now?

Most people I know who do field offers for him still want that tier 2 QB value for him. I wouldnt pay more than a generic early/mid 1st

I really think now is the time to buy if you can. Once Urban is gone and they hire an offensive mind HC and hit the draft and FA to get some weapons, he could get expensive. To be fair, in my main league I sold him and Goedert for Burrow (its only a 10 player keeper league and I was running out of spots)...but yeah, if I can get him for a generic 1st in SF I would do that.

Well I have the #2 pick this year and was thinking I had to add quite a bit more for him. If he's that cheap I would be stoked.

As bad as this season went for him, you may be able to entice the owner with 1.2...sell him on my boy Kenny Pickett! Hail to Pitt! lol

I'd pay an early first in a SF, but no more. I really never thought he was that good, and this season has done nothing to change my mind. The Jags will be a mess for years.

I read this title as "TLaw in San Francisco" and spent way too much time figuring out who you were referring to.

As an owner in a 16 team 2QB, (and drafted him at 1.01) I’m still holding barring a massive overpay. Urban is an idiot (and will hopefully be gone this year) and they have very little talent on offense.

I put him on the block in one league (12 team SF), wanting a win-now QB and some change, and got pretty junk offers. Obviously can’t expect the value he had a few months ago, but I have a little more patience than that. I’ll wait and see what happens with Meyer. I think it’s most likely he’s gone, but there’s also a (small) chance he stays and the NFL game clicks, too.

I wouldn’t take a single early 1st still.

Yeah the real question is what are people selling him for, because I can pretty much guarantee he won't be sold for what people are willing to/wanting to pay. A highly touted rookie QB underperforming in his first year is hardly out of the norm; adding in the sht show that is the Jags organization and all the news breaking about Urban being a nightmare to work for (which was predicted by just about everyone as soon as he got the job) isn't going to change the value to people who just drafted him where they did.

Chase, Najee, Javonta and Pitts all currently have fairly significant more value than Trevor Lawrence according to KTC.

If we are talking early 2022 1st, I'd rather draft a 1st round QB with that pick and keep my 2023 1st. Trevor hasn't shown much this year to overpay for him.

So long as we're here... some good Lawrence content for the mill - JT O'Sullivan of the QB School breaking down TL's tape from the Tennessee game.

I don't anticipate seeing much movement in 2qb leagues. Doesn't make sense to sell him cheap or to overpay if buying. Maybe some owners will find that happy medium... But qbs are typically tough to come by as is. You pretty much have to give a stud or stud plus to land a respectable qb.... If you aren't willing to pay that for tlaw, your likely not going to be considered a serious buyer.
