IDP Class 2022

In 1QB IDP leagues with balanced scoring, where does everyone see some of the top IDP like Thibodeaux, Hamilton and Hutchinson going?

My gut tells me 2-3 1st round IDP isn't that farfetched.

Thoughts

In my IDP League I am projecting Thibodeaux as a top 8 pick and Hutchinson in the top 12 (if they are designated as a D-Linemen). Hamilton will likely be a round 2 selection as will LBs Nakobe Dean and Devin Lloyd. That league is Big play heavy and IDP guys are definitely a step below offensive players value-wise. As I mentioned in a different thread this is a very good and DEEP IDP class, and also not the best QB or RB class which will push IDPs up in that league.

depends on where they go and how they're labeled. I still wish in this day and age pass rushers were labeled as edge instead of 3-4 LB's or 4-3 DE's. Regardless it really depends, IDP's in my league never really start going until the end of the first and even thats rare, i'd project (for my league at least) that there will be an IDP run early in the 2nd

What makes you say that? I have seen a lot of hype for him as a generational safety but does his skill set lend itself to fantasy production?

Hamilton, to me, seems to be a guy in the Derwin James mold, with the larger, longer build, who can do a bit of everything. I don't know if that is so much a cheat code, as simply a really good player who is talented enough to be a reliable player with good upside. If I had him, he's a guy I won't worry about and start with confidence, as I think he is athletic enough to have a quality tackle floor, while also the skillset to provide big play production. However, I do not view him as a S playing the LB position (i.e. in the box) exclusively, which is what i usually think about with 'cheat code' Safety guys. Hamilton will be playing all over the field, but is talented enough to still provide fantasy worth.

All that said, we need to keep an eye on where he lands to see what other variables (i.e. scheme, teammates, etc.) may impact his role.

I have Walker and Hutch in the 1st tier of rookies alongside the WRs and Hall/Walker. I would take either of these edge studs in the 1st round.

Thibodaux scares the crap out of me, but I would gamble on him in the 2nd round after guys like James Cook, Skyy Moore, & Dotson. Jermaine Johnson comes next in my rankings.

Devin Lloyd is my LB1 but I will never get him. He’s in my 3rd tier of rookies, alongside guys like Dameon Pierce, TDP, and Metchie. Kyle Hamilton, same story. Then I have Lewis Cine, Brisker, Quay Walker, Karlaftis, & Jordan Davis all in that same tier just a bit later on.

Nakobe Dean heads up my next tier of IDPs, alongside the massive glut of edge players taken around the 40s and 50s (Hall, Jackson, Mafe, Ebiketie, etc), and the 2nd tier safeties (Hill & Cook)

I cannot believe how low Walker is going in drafts... I have him as a late 1st rounder. Interesting...

think he might be referring to Quay? LB's are more valuable than DL in my league though

Travon based on his tier rankings above. I think the fall has more to do with positional ambiguity—will he ultimately be listed as a LB, DE or DT? In many leagues, he’s worthless if he ends up with a LB designation.

Pretty sure he's talking about Travon based on the quoted, bolded statements ... But I was also very surprised how low Quay was taken in my league.

This is truly why he fell in my rookie draft.

based on Allen being a DE on MFL, I have to imagine Walker playing the same position on the other side. Which would make me believe that he'll be considered a DE on MFL
