Acquiring Montgomery

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Acquiring Montgomery

Postby Platt22 » Fri Nov 19, 2021 11:14 am

Looking to add depth down stretch.

Give Shenault/22 2nd for Montgomery. If he doesn't accept would you do a 22 1st and shenault? I figure Montgomery would still be useful next year but don't want to hurt myself in process.
Team 1
QB- Richardson, Dak, Carr and Minshew

Rb- Montgomery, Moss, Bigsby, Zeke, Penny and Vaughn.

Wr- D. Smith, Jameson, Downs, QJ., Zay Jones, Wandale Rob, Meyers and Mingo

Te- Kittle, Ferguson, Parham and Woods

10 team, 3 flex, 1 pt ppr, 1 qb, 18 bench spots

Picks:
24- (4) 1s, (2) 2s, 3, 4
25- (4) 1s, 2, 3, 4

Team 2
Qb- Goff, Kyler, and D. Jones

Rb- Pollard, Stevenson, Mostert, Hubbard, Tucker, Gray, and Abanikanda

Wr- Deebo, Watson, Nico, Diontae, JSN, Addison, Rice, Woods, Meyers and Hutchinson

Te- LaPorta, Henry

12 team, 0.5 ppr, 1 qb league, 3 flex.

Shenault looks like average asset at this point and if you can land Montgomery for the 2nd on top, I think its a great deal. The 1st makes it much closer, so i would push the 2nd.

I’d be surprised if Shenault and a 2nd gets it done. It’s tough to give up a first for what you’re describing as a depth move, so you may want to consider aiming for a lower tier RB like Fournette, Elijah Mitchell, or Kareem Hunt (if you can wait on his return from IR).
12 Team Superflex - PPR, 0.25 PPC - QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex/Superflex
QB: L Jackson, Tagovailoa, Rodgers, Pickett, Tannehill
RB: Swift, Pacheco, Sanders, Hubbard, Spears, Dillon, Herbert, McLaughlin, Chandler, Dowdle
WR: DeVonta, Waddle, Aiyuk, Nacua, McLaurin, Hopkins, M Williams, Mingo, Wan’Dale, Hyatt
TE: Kelce, Okonkwo, Schoonmaker

All these RBs are worth the 1st.

The 2 and Viska won’t get it done. There’s a lot you can do before offering the 1st in place of the 2nd. Do you have two 2’s?

I do. I asked if a first would get it done and he said. Lol not for Monty, so he's pretty high on him and he said he's set at wr.

I agree with the owner. I wouldn’t sell for that but we will help you try! How about trying the 1 and 2 and young player with upside or vet RB to stand in for Monty? Maybe he needs TE?

I don't think you could get Monty for what I expect is a late 1st since he would be a depth add for you. Mid and you are talking, but even that is pretty questionable.

Monty is worth 2 1sts (mid to late) or 1 early 1st. He has a lot of juice and should only get better with Fields improving. He's still only 24 too.

Fournette
If I'm contending I wouldnlt move Fournette. If I was rebuilding I'd want an early 2nd or equivalent player. I have no interest in a contenders second unless that is really the only offer on the table.

With this in mind, I wouldn't even bother investing time and energy into coming up with a trade for Monty. Sounds like you guys would be too far off to compromise. You could probably land a guy like Gaskin or Conner for Shenault (and probably a second but maybe without if you're lucky). Like the boys have said, giving up a first for a depth piece isn't ideal but giving up depth pieces for depth pieces makes sense. Personally, I'd scan through the league and be first looking for teams rebuilding, and teams weak at WR, and see what mid level RBs those teams have.
