Charles

Will Charles' injury affect him moving forward in his career? Maybe this has been discussed and I just missed it...

I think it will...I fear he will lose some of his burst and cutting ability. I am not a doctor tho, so maybe that is a false guess by me.

I don't see him coming back the same player as before, no longer a top 10 RB. I'm already planning on how I'll send him off in the off season and get something of worth in return.

I would think right around 10... I am not a doctor and I havent stayed in a holiday inn so I don't know how much the injury will hurt him, but I think he will still be an every week play flirting with RB1-2 potential.

Wes Welker has returned to 100% in terms of cutting, speed and tackle breaking and he had a worse injury. I know he's a WR, but his style of play is close to that of a RBs.

but WRs take much fewer hits like RBs do...I mean I hope he is ok, but I won't hold my breath that he is top 10 after the injury.

I think if there are no holdups in his recovery, he can return to his previous status. Doctors can do sooo much more than they could just 5 years ago, and these major injuries are getting slightly less significant every year with improved surgeries, treatments, and therapy. I'm not saying every player will come back 100%, but I have confidence this won't be something that will entirely derail his career.

prolly right. seems right.... usually the 2nd year removed from an acl is when the player is right mentally. They have to learn to trust the leg again. They spend a whole year having major surgery, favoring it, treating it, rehabbing it... etc. You spend that long dwelling on the injury, and it takes a year before they arnt subcutaneously thinking about the knee, instead of just seeing and cutting. His return to a VERY short lived top5 RB(guess that lasted one off/pre-season), depends on the type of rupture he had, his doctor, his rehab, and maybe most importantly, his mindset.

Absolutely agree. And since he was hurt so early I expect his head to be right by the start of next year

I think next year, during the season, will be the time to buy low on Charles if you want him.

Right now, Charles owners are holding on to him hopeful that he returns to stud status next year. Because they haven't seen post-injury Charles play at all, there's still hope there and the asking price is still high.

If you look at the stats of RBs 1 year removed from ACL injuries, it generally isn't pretty. I fully expect him to struggle next year, especially early on. His owners will become frustrated and then be willing to sell him a little cheaper since they will have seen him play. Assuming no injury setbacks though, I see him returning closer to his last year self towards the end of next season and then really hitting his stride again 2 years from now. I don't expect him to ever be completely the same, but even a 90% Charles would be special still.

Agreed 100%. Next year will be a down year for him, for sure. The same is true for Britt. They will both be buy candidates at this time next year for rebuilding teams.

Charles is young enough to get through this. The physical rehab will be fine, the toughest part in this recovery is the mental side, and being confident with the new knee. I know from experience that it does take a while before you truly become comfortable making cuts and getting hit on the knee, but truth be told is that the new ligament is going to be stronger than the old one. He should be ready to go next year, but i expect a slow start before he gets back into his comfort zone and begins to get back to his old self.
