As a reminder, Gibbs likely wasn’t on anyone’s radar this time last year and now he’s a top 10 dynasty RB. Willing to bet we get another one of those this year also.
My college radar is pretty weak, but even I knew about Gibbs last offseason. Maybe I just lucked into it, but I feel like he was pretty highly touted.
Gibbs was on people's radar when he was at Georgia Tech. He's been well known for years.
Drafted him and Bijan in devy after their freshman seasons. But I also don’t expect those that don’t watch college football or play devy to know that far in advance. Lots of dynasty players aren’t aware of the next year of rookies until pre draft process.

For SF I think I agree. The top of the draft is very strong - 2 QBs, 1 WR and 1 TE (all elite).

At RB - it is shaky. But RB tends to round out later. There will be somebody who emerges and is worthy of a high pick for dynasty.

WR is solid - the college game changes quickly but right now the class looks significantly better than '23. At least as many WRs should be selected in the first round, they should go earlier and several of them are better (IMO) than JSN was a a prospect. JSN may turn out to be a better player - I'm just talking about how they profile as draft prospects. There's a reason JSN fell to the 20s. I expect several picked before that in '24. Two of the candidates will be on display in the game tomorrow night. . .
I don't agree with this. If JSN stays in school he's the clear WR2 in this class behind Harrison.

The gap after Harrison is gigantic. It'll be interesting to see who emerges from that Tier 2:

- Troy Franklin
- Rome Odunze
- Xavier Worthy
- Malik Nabers
- Emeka Egbuka
- Mario Williams

I don't know if all of these players are 1st round guys, but I agree that since there were only 4 first-round WRs this year, it shouldn't be that hard to match in theory.
If JSN had stayed in school there would still be a huge gap after MHJ in 2024.

JSN was the top WR in a fairly weak class in 2023. JSN would not have been the WR1 in the 2020, 2021, or 2022 class, or even the 2024 class had he stayed.

There was also a good size gap after JSN in WR's in 2023 draft class.
At this point, I think Egbuka, Nabers, and Worthy will all be more highly touted WR prospects coming out than Addison, QJ, and Flowers were.

Ok. As I said, I was speaking about JSN as a prospect only.

Question: If JSN is a better prospect than all the guys next year (other than MHJR), why did he drop to the 20's in the draft? And a draft was was lacking in WR talent.

Before the season, JSN was predicted to be a first round pick. He essentially didn't play last season and still went first round.

Can you say the same outcome is probable if any of those players don't play this year? Of course not.

Like I said, if he returned to school, there would be no argument of who the top two WRs in this class are.

I'm really not trying to argue w/ you. Just to understand.

So the reason he fell in the NFL draft was the injury?

He potentially could've gone higher if he played and just isn't so overwhelmingly talented like a Chase where he would go Top 5 without playing.

I think the only thing his draft spot tells us is that he was not viewed as an elite WR, but merely a very good one.

I agree on that final sentence for sure.

FWIW - I think he benefited from excellent QB play at OSU. MHJR and Egbuka will not get that boost. I'm unsure how that translates to the draft - not good I expect.

Unlikely, but can hope.

I think Harrison is a first rounder regardless of what happens this season. He should be a Top 10 pick even as a low case.

Egbuka? I think his range of outcomes is wider.

Agreed on both. MHJR is a top talent. The numbers might just not be stunning this season. Watching this game today and not optimistic for the Buckeyes.

With the DNA and history of his father, MHJ is going to be one of the first guys off the board. Might be third in Superflex, but will probably be first everywhere else.

I agree. Maybe 1.02 in SF.
