Do I need to blow this team up?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Do I need to blow this team up?

Any reason to be optimistic on competing this year?

If not, feels like this team needs to be blown up. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Short answer, yes I would be looking to retool. Longer answer, it comes down to selling each asset at the right time and for the right return. In season may yield a better return, but making your assets available is a great start to seeing options.

The Watson think was such a curve ball, I do t think your QB play is strong enough now. Watson/DlBrady would have been nice otherwise. RBs are also too weak behind Henry. I'd have to see your league but this doesnt look like a top 3 roster. So yes, retooling might be a good idea.

You don't need to blow this team up. You do have to start planning for the future. Waller and Pitts (assuming he becomes what we think/hope he will) should give you a significant advantage in a 2ppr premium league. Additionally you have 4 starting QBs and if Watson does play this year (likely if grand jury does not move forward with charges, less likely if they do) you got a great QB group. Henry will be consistent until he's not. And Keenan and locket are routinely undervalued options. I think you're going to want to hold onto your 2023 1st at this point but you could move your 2022 2nds for other rbs, like Mostert, Carson, gaskin etc. Not saying a single 2022 2nd would do it but maybe a couple to the right team would get it done.

Worst case scenario you should roll with what you have and reassess in week 4 or 5.

Think I’d dangle guys like Brady, Henry, KA and see what comes in. If the offers look good that’d make the decision for me. I think that could easily still be a playoff team this year, so no huge rush imo.

Yes, I think so. Without next years first you're already behind the eightball and I can't see this team winning a ship. Rebuild around pitts and maybe watson depending on what you can get for him.

Hmm didn’t catch that OP doesn’t have his own first.

In that case I’d start the season with intent to compete, and sell older producers in season to contenders if it looks like it’s not gonna work out.

You don’t have to blow it up preseason to improve your pick, if you don’t have it.

The problem is that a lot of your bigger chips to sell are not prime for selling right now...

Selling Watson or Michael Thomas right now would be foolish when we all know their values will spike if/when they return to the field. Lockett is perpetually undervalued and lazily analyzed so his value is super low right now. Brady will suffer from age-ism until his first 330 yd 3 td game. You have to wait on all of these guys to find optimum sell times.

Agree to dangle Henry and Keenan right before the season when redraft mindsets creep into dynasty brains and see if you get blown away. Then - wait for the aforementioned guys to return or spike and sell.

If not for poor luck with Watson and MT situations your team would look great.

Those 2 issues will prob hold you back from winning this year, so a retool not a full tear down could be in order.

I'd look at dealing Henry, Brady, maybe Waller.
