Jamaal Williams handcuff value

Postby L.Washington » Wed Aug 11, 2021 2:04 pm

Team 1 in sig. Assuming Lawrence and/or Fields play well this year I'm pretty well set up to make a good run, but I'm a bit thin at RB if anything happens to one of my top 3 guys. I was offered the below deal which seemed steep at first glance, but with Swift's groin injury and the coaches consistently talking up Williams I'm at least considering it. Which side do y'all have here?

Give: 2022 2nd (likely mid-late)
Get: Jamaal Williams

A late 2nd is not a bad price to pay based on how next years class already looks. I feel Williams contributions are being a little over valued if you go back and really look at the stats. I'm not a big handcuff guy, but again I don't think the price is bad if the 2nd is likely late for the piece of mind. Swift's workload is a little ify anyway, so Williams does seem to be one of the more premier handcuffs.

A 2nd for a handcuff? Yeah I will take that. It's a lions handcuff too, that team will probably stink.

You take a second for Williams. Chances are he was (should be) your rb 5 or 6 or 7 on your team. If he was your RB2 or 3 you have other issues. So assuming he wasn't in your starting thoughts you take the second.
Team 1: Players of note
PPR--QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, Superflex, Flex x2
QBs: Lawrence, Stafford, Bunch of backups
RBs: Ekeler, Kamara, Achane, Dillon, Kelley, Moss, Javonte Williams,Jamaal Williams
WRs: Adams, Hopkins, Waddle, Kirk, JSN, Boyd, OBJ, Hyatt, Osborn
TEs: Kelce, Hockenson, Taysom,

and then a few minor players and rookie stashed on taxi

If that pick ended up being a late 2nd I'd be okay with it, as you'd be locking in the Swift handcuff for 2 years. I'd feel much better about countering with a 3rd or even 2 3rds though.
