Trade away Dobbins/Kupp for Ridley?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade away Dobbins/Kupp for Ridley?

Postby Randomguess » Mon Aug 09, 2021 11:54 am

12 team league, 1/2 PPR, 1 QB, not SF, no TE premium
QB: Murray
RB: JT, CEH, Swift, Dobbins, Moss
WR: DK, Lamb, Mclaurin, Kupp, Deebo
TE: Kittle, Hockenson
2021 picks: 1.04, 1.10, 2.10, 3.10, 4.10

I offered Dobbins for Ridley but the other owner declined. I am contemplating offering Dobbins and Kupp for Ridley but to me it feels like a bit of an overpay and a move that I don't need to make. However, Ridley seems like a pretty sure top 5 WR this year. There is no guarantee Dobbins is going to put up huge numbers this year. We can start 1-3 RBs in this league, so I feel ok trading away Dobbins and Kupp for a top WR. The other deal that I have lined up is in the case that I draft Pitts at 1.04, the owner of AJ Brown has agreed to trade for Kittle straight up.

So after these trades my team would be:
QB: Murray
RB: JT, CEH, Swift, Moss
WR: DK, Lamb, Mclaurin, Ridley, AJ Brown
TE: Hockenson, Pitts
This does not include the 1.10 selection.
Would you do both of these trades if this was your team? I think I'd be set at RB and WR and still very solid at TE. Thanks for the input.
Team 1:
QB: Stroud, Geno, Minshew
RB: Bijan, ETN, R White, Z White, Pacheco
WR: Lamb, Nakua, Olave, Dell, Pickens, Shakir, Iosivas, Burks
TE: Laporta, Andrews
2024 picks: 1.01, 1.02
2025 two 1sts

Team 2:
QB: Lawrence, Stafford
RB: Hall, Taylor, Z White, Javonte Williams, Dobbins
WR: Chase, Lamb, Kupp, Deebo, DK, Ridley, Addison
TE: Laporta, Andrews
2024 picks: 1.10, 2.12, 3.10, 4.10

Not for me. I prefer the Dobbins side, especially in half PPR.

I like AJB>Kittle. I'd upgrade at WR with Hock and Pitts. Moving on from Kittle for AJB is something I would do. However, how do you know Pitts doesn't go before 1.04? Say at 1.02?

Curious what the starting requirements are, with flexes etc.

I can't guarantee Pitts will be there at 1.04, but as of now the guys in front of me are taking Harris, Chase and Lawrence - don't ask about Lawrence, i know and i agree with what's going through your mind right now. I wouldn't make the Kittle trade until I have selected Pitts.

The Ridley trade seems like a bit of an overpay because Kupp has a real shot to put up solid numbers with Stafford. I prefer Ridley to Dobbins straight up but Kupp makes it an overpay. I could live with the overpay but I'm in the minority there. That being said, I don't think you have to force that deal.

I like the Brown trade straight up for Kittle very much and I would jump on that.

Thats a hold.

Ridley and Kupp will most likely be close in PPG this year.
Good WR's are too plentiful anymore to trade a 2nd year high upside RB to gain 4 years in age at your WR spot.

I misread this trade and thought you were trading Kittle for Pitts. With Hock on your roster I would trade Kittle for AJB regardless if Pitts is there for you

I don't have to. I know that this owner has no idea what they are doing, it's not complicated. Taking a QB in the top 3 of a rookie draft in a 1 QB league shows they have no idea about value.
