Mooney vs Xavier jones

Postby Zhoward88 » Wed Jul 21, 2021 6:41 am

I’ve been a Jones fan for a bit. But now his value is increasing exponentially. Should I sell out now and get Mooney? Not worried about team makeup....purely who should I want here?

At this price, get your guy. If Mooney is a guy you like this is as cheap as he'll come this year unless he totally busts. I think Jones is a longer shot than Mooney.

Mooney, by a lot. The Rams are going to sign at least 1 free agent and it will just push Jones back down the depth chart. Mooney is going to start for the Bears this year.

Got mooney, and even got a 3rd on top of Mooney for a 4th added to Jones.

I like Mooney much more long term and would rather go that route.

Is "neither" an option? LOL. Mooney carries more value but I don't see him ever ascending to WR2 level. I see him as an inconsistent WR3 who is replacement level in the coming drafts. Jones might be more interesting if he ends up spot starting a handful of games this year. I prob take the value play with Mooney and then immediately try and flip him for a random 2nd.

Interesting thought. Though I feel it’s kinda brash. What about Mooney don’t you like? Seemed like he showed positive stats on all the important factors people look at. And with Dalton/fields there now has promise of improved QB play too.

What don't I like about Mooney...?
* 5th rd draft capital
* Size... 5'11" 172... I mean, that is pretty small in the way we worry about Devonta Smith
* Avg of "meh" 8.2 ppg in ppr last year as WR73 in ppg
* Feels like it wouldn't take much for CHI to replace/upgrade him with a future draft pick

He has that MVS feel. We see a few highlights but it'd be a long shot for him to ever be in your lineup every week with confidence. Just feels like the odds of a breakout are stacked against him even with the QB upgrade. I'd much rather have some "cash to spend" in the form of rookie picks than this player.

Mooney, this is silly. Jones is a pure dart throw and may never see a snap. Even if he does, hes an immediate flip candidate, not some long term asset.
