What TE's do you like and who are you targeting everywhere?

He has 3rd round capital and moreover the Saints traded away all their day 3 picks last year to move up for him. They let Jared Cook and Josh Hill walk this offseason and didn't spend major resources on the position to solidify him as TE1 on the depth chart

They also let Emmanuel Sanders walk and didn't add a second WR opposite MT leaving a lot of targets for a TE to step into (even with Kamara taking a good chunk of passing game work)--possibly even as a clear number 2 passing option in New Orleans

And statistically: his number of routes run was consistently hitting double digits (more involvement in the passing game) by the end of the year and though a limited sample he had a 93.8% true catch rate meaning his hands were solid

His college profile is pretty good too as he hits the sweet spot of height (6'5'') and weight (255 lbs) for a TE and was very productive early and often at Dayton with a 19.6 breakout age and 38.1% dominator (97th percentile) with an 8.75 (out of 10--so lower end of elite) relative athletic score (Athleticism matters a ton for TEs--hard to find elite TEs with an RAS below 8)

The coaches seem to love him too and he has a really good offensive head coach who was on board with that trade up for him.

Also, he earned a stellar 79.4 PFF grade meaning even when he wasn't running routes he was having a nice season on the field blocking--enough to get snaps and the favor of the coaching staff

Fant and Hockenson had PFF grades of 52 and 60.5 respectively as rookies before climbing into the 70s as sophomores

Andrews had a 75.7 grade that preceded his sophomore breakout (which got him a 90.8) and Kittle had a 65.8 grade as a rookie before his breakout (89.7) the next year

To give an idea how PFF grades predict future production

I'm grabbing Everett for free whenever I can.

I'm also grabbing Kylen Granson at the back end of my drafts & sticking him deep onto taxi squads.

Firkser, but the Julio news dampens this pick.
Tonyan, assuming Rodgers comes back.
Irv Smith, hoping for him to evolve/emerge.
Kmet, now is his time to take a step UP with Fields.
Trautman, same story, especially if Winston is QB.
Alie-Cox, seeing him on a lot of sleeper lists.

I’m still on the Donald Parham train. Eyeball test. This is dynasty so a 34 year old Cook with a 2nd year maybe stud QB is the perfect way to drop the asking price. Plus, he’s likely cheap enough that a swing and a miss won’t hurt too much.

Nice rundown. I'm gonna peek around a bit on him

Higbee. I think he's a good bounce back candidate, especially with Stafford in town and Everett gone.

I'll throw shout outs to Hunter Long as a 2022 stash and Kylen Granson on an Indy team with no established pass catchers as well (though he has Carson Wentz at QB so not sure if he has any chance to show out this year)

Why do you like Stafford over Goff for Higbee?

100% agree.

I scouted him and snatched him off the waiver wire in preseason last year knowing he would sit on my bench all year and probably not even score or be active on a weekly basis. Many questioned why waste a roster spot but I had the foresight to know that cook was going to be gone after the year and trautman was just sitting the first year to learn. Guy us a superb talent and most league winning TE like kelce and kittle come outta nowhere, I believe trautman will follow that same path. And if I'm wrong he's still cheap enough to take a gamble on.

I'm also sitting on jarwin whos been all but forgotten after his injury week 1 last year, let's not forget he was a top breakout candidate. Prob pretty cheap to aquire.

Stafford is just a better QB in general than Goff. It's a notable upgrade.

How about a very deep sleeper? I grabbed him in round 32 of a 36 round SF/TE premium best ball startup last month: Jacob Hollister

He's now with Buffalo. Reunited with his college QB. What if Dawson Knox sucks? Hollister had a few decent games in Seattle.

Also in Round 33 I grabbed Thaddeus Moss, who is reunited with his college QB in Cincy.

Of course my top 3 TEs are Pitts, Irv Smith, Trautman, so I'm probably ok if my lottery tickets don't pan out.
