What exactly does he mean by “moving on”? Trading them for less value to get them off your roster? I made this same mistake a few years ago trading away Marshall Faulk because I was trying to optimize his value in my mind and moving him before what I assumed was going to be his decline, with very poor results for my team as opposed to staying the course with a stud. This looks a lot like that, outsmarting one’s self when you have superior assets.

I traded both this offseason but I got back very good value.
Wilson trade was Watson and a 1st for Wilson seemed good enough for me but I still think Wilson will be a strong asset for years.
Kittle on the other hand worries me. His injuries are piling on due to his playstyle and with Lance coming in it's hard to see how this will affect the offense.

"a few years ago"

Hate to make you feel old, but Faulk retired a decade and a half ago. It's been a while.

Is that you? If so, well done. Good content, with players we want to hear about. I agree that both are "sell high" type of guys. As always....it's all about the return when moving "high end" guys.

It all comes down to the return for any asset but certainly more so elite ones. Any offers on the table currently?
