What does a rebuilding superflex team do with 1.02?

Hi folks,

I picked up an orphaned team four years ago and it isn't going very well as you can tell by draft slot.
I play in a 12 team SF dynasty, PPR with IDP and rosters of 36+ players.

Not especially set at QB, with Murray, Wentz, Minshew, +1
Not especially set at RB, with Ekeler, Henderson, Edwards, Latavius, +6
WR group is Godwin, Tee Higgins, Campbell/Gage/Tre'Quan, Tyler Johnson +8
TE is Engram, Higbee +2

My gut says I am not close, and yet I feel like I could be a RB1 or WR1 away from contending.

If you were in this predicament would you...
Trade 1.02 and load up on as much talent as possible?
Address QB depth by getting Lance or Fields?
Go for Harris on the chance that he becomes one of those top 5 RB's that seem to have higher value than QB?

Make a selection in the poll. Any advice/rationale you can provide would be welcome.

Thanks and good luck this year.

I would go with your favorite between Fields or Lance. Pairing one with Murray could really pay off. Chase would be the only other one I would consider.

I’d try my hardest to trade down within the top 7 picks somewhere. If you cant I’d go Lance.

the value is at QB...pick or trade.....just have to get the right one.....Chase is the safest..and only option outside of QB that should be considered.

The reason I am so fond of Harris here has to do with the fact I have a very thin RB corps. It's a clear need, and he's arguably the top single QB rookie.

Rb is a need, but you also have holes across the board. I don't think you are just 1 RB away from competing. Go with a QB or trade down a pick or two and get extra assets to pick QB/Chase.

Agree with this. Try scrape some value with a pick next year or a second for someone to move up who may be willing to spend a bit for Harris or Chase

It comes down to what your views are on the other 4 qbs. Everyone has their guy, but it’s a lottery anyway and quite honestly I’m ok with Wilson, fields, lance or Jones (that’s my personal order)

Thank you, Gator Sens, for your insights. Can you share what puts Chase up there with the konami QB's?

I would try to trade down. But....what are your options?

I think the majority would tell you QB, but I vew Chase as the ideal pick in a rebuild.

Not speaking for Gator, but Chase is the best WR prospect in a very long time. He has a chance to be a pillar on your team for a decade. I am bullish on Fields and Lance, so it vaults Chase above them for me

You draft your favorite non-RB. Usually shading towards QB but Pitts and Chase can make arguments depending on league to be 1.02. You don't go RB during a rebuild.

Of course you should be looking to trade back. Drop down to 1.05ish for a 2022 1st or something like that. Maybe you can even get more.

Rebuilds are about acquiring potential.

personally i would trade it if i could get a HAUL while on the clock...and by that i mean YOUNG stud WR, late 1st and future first or something comparable for your teams future success....if not take fields, lance or chase.

Thanks for the detailed suggestion in trade targets. I appreciate that you specified while on the clock.

One option was J.K. Dobbins and Gesicki for the 1.02. Personally, I'd probably ask for the 2.04 instead of Gesicki.
