Jaylen Waddle or Devonta Smith?

I'm sitting on pick 1.11 in a SuperFlex PPR league and will likely have to decide between the 2. I got back and forth almost every other day on who I like better.

Jaylen Waddle:
- better draft capital (+ team gave up a lot to move up and select him)
- better measurables, although he's short which may limit him
- better passing QB / organization

Devonta Smith
- more complete WR - can win in all facets of the position including contested catches / jump balls
- immediate target hog in a division that will pass a lot
- if Jalen Hurts doesnt work out this year, likely will have a QB upgrade in 2022
- Eagles unlikely to draft another WR highly in the coming years (speculation)

Curious to get the community's thoughts

Smith for me, I like both a lot but Smith is athletically no slouch even if he's not Waddle tier athleticism.

Sounds more like a team advice question, but I do think this is going to be a pretty common debate in rookie drafts. I'm going Waddle. I like his speed and I'm scared of Smith's chicken legs.

Neither.

Trade back and get Elijah Moore who is better than both...

But if I had to choose Waddle because I see a higher ceiling. I will be trading out of any spot in the draft where I have to choose between the two though

Smith is the more complete WR, so I would take him, but Waddle comes with more speed/big play potential.

That how I see it as well. Smith is so smooth in routes it looks like he is faking it. I like both of these players quite a bit.

Smith. Waddle never broke out, is shorter, and we have no measurement of his athleticism when that's what his reputation is predicated on.

So Jefferson vs Ruggs comparison? I'll go with JJ/Smith.

Except Jefferson broke out as a sophomore and was built like a number 1 WR/not lighter than a medium sized dog

Huh? 850 yards as a true freshman at bama seems plenty broken out to me. Or 560 yards in the 1st 4 games last year. Saying he didn't break out is utter nonsense, and a total misuse of BOA.

I have 2 medium sized dogs and I love them very much; sometimes even more than I love my wife and kids.

Waddle

Devonta might be a better talent, but Im not betting on him becoming a Dessen Jackson kind of player. Size does matter at times

Smith easily for me. I actually like him more than Chase to be honest. His build is very overblown to me and his athleticism, hands and route running are some of the best I've seen in a while. Not scared at all of his size/weight.

Smith plays nothing like Jackson.

Bold statement. I am actually much higher on Waddle at the next level, but both carry some risk
