Claypool vs 1.06

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Claypool vs 1.06

Postby dark_knite03 » Sat Apr 24, 2021 2:40 pm

Thinking about offering up Claypool for the 1.06. Already own the 1.02 & 1.04. IF the draft was today I'd be getting chase and Harris in those spots. 1.01 is set on Lawrence :eh: and 1.03 is all over Smith. Pitts or ETN would be my target at 1.06. Team 1 below and I can start up to 4 wrs.

I would see Etienne over Claypool but I would want to know landing spot first. I see Claypool as a mid 1st value with big upside though.

This is a 1QB league? I'd be a bit concerned about 1.01 taking someone else or trading back if so. Too much can happen in front of you and Claypool's upside is massive. I'd maybe consider floating this with 1.06 OTC if a player you like falls there but doing it before the NFL draft seems super risky.
Team 1: 2012-2016
2013 Champion, 2012 Runner-Up

Team 2: 12 Team PPR - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 R/W/T, 23 man rosters, est. 2016
2021 Champion, 2020 Runner-up
Tua, Purdy Geno, Carr
JT, Ekeler, Mostert, Javonte, Chuba, D. Harris, M. Carter, J. Hill, Spiller
Chase, AJB, Amon-Ra, Aiyuk, Olave, DJM, Dell
Andrews, McBride, Engram
IR(3): Chubb, M. Williams, Rodgers
Taxi(4): J. Palmer, Tolbert, T. Palmer
2024 Picks: 3, 4, 5

Team 3: 12 Team PPR, 6 pt Pass TD - 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 3 R/W/T, 28 man rosters, est. 2019
2021 Champion, 2022 Runner-up
Jackson, Love, Tannehill, Z. Wilson
Barkley, Mixon, Mostert, J. Wilson, CEH, Gaskin, J. Hill
J. Jefferson, Diggs, Waddle, Evans, Metcalf, Sutton, R. Moore, Slayton, Berrios, Carter, Dortch, Powell, Raymond
Kelce, Dissly, Hooper
2024 Picks: 1

It is but qbs are valued insanely high.... Herbert was traded for Mike Evans and a 2nd. Multiple qbs usually drafted round 1. Qbs traded for 1sts or players of that value. I got a 2nd and Arob for Goff 2 years ago I know it makes no sense but happens all the time. Also why I'm riding Matty ice and Carr I refuse to pay up. But given the state of my team I'd really consider Lawrence there if he didn't go 1.01 which I think he will. Guys @ 1.01 & 1.05 do not trade.

I mean, I doubt your draft pans out that way but every league is different... Claypool seems solid but I might hold the pick for a better offer

Give me the pick for tm1 then. Lots of flexibility in the draft and could gain more value.

Lawrence
Chase (you)
Smith
Harris (you)
Pitts
ETN (you)

That's your best case imo. You've got a really good team regardless

This seems to be a case of getting bored with what you have in favor of flashy draft possibilities. By 1.06, the two top RBs, WRs, and Pitts will be gone. I'm not trading Claypool for the guys behind them. He's got Metcalf-like ceiling.

I have Claypool as a late 1st in 1qb 12-team. That's for what I would trade him away for. I wouldn't give up a 1st to get him.

In your case, I'd jump at the chance to trade him away to get the 1.06. I'm always trying to get Top10 positional talents. IMO, Claypool's peak is probably a WR2, but he wasn't always that good over his last 20 games. It's okay to toss him back into the pond and go fishing for someone else who might be that Top10 talent.
TEAM 1:

IDP:(LB) Bolton, Greenlaw; (DE/DL) ZCollins, BJHill; (S/CB) Pitre, Bates, Witherspoon
2023 & 2022 Champion: 2020 third place: 2019 Champion

TEAM 2:
14 Team 30roster SF/ppr/TEP - QB/RB/WR/TE/5FLX/SF

RB: Etienne, Stevenson, GusE, AJD, Singletary, CEH, Spiller
WR: Amon-Ra, Kirk, Dell, Thielen, Gallup, Ch Jones
TE: Andrews, Waller, Taysom, Smythe, WMallory, JOliver

Guess I’m in the minority but the pick easily for me in SF. There’s a few WR in this class I prefer over Claypool and that’s not counting the top QBs, RBs, or Pitts.

Oh. I just assumed based on the 1.01 set on Lawrence. Wow in 1 qb 😳

Love having people like you in my leagues, who would trade me Claypool for 1.12 so that they can draft Elijah Moore. LOL!!!
