I've been asking about Reddick (in a post here) for days. He was #1 or #2 in scoring if a DL. I'm wondering 2 things: will MFL move him back to LB (do they do this? my guess is YES they probably have and will do flip flop moves of positions during a single off season) and will he be in the same position to repeat those points in CAR?

In for the responses as well. I don't play MFL, I'm on RT. I hope they switch him to DL there. I saw a depth chart that so far had Chinn as the WLB starter and Reddick the #2 WLB. So, if he's essentially the Edge/DE on the weak side, and Chinn is truly the WLB most of the time, he probably won't be as productive as he was as the WLB for the Cardinals correct? Am I looking at this right? I've only played IDP one year.

Reddick and Mercilus are the guys that look most interesting to me, but I'm not confident either will truly pan out at DE. I'm a Brian Burns owner and have worried for 2 seasons that his designation would change to LB, but he appears to be firm at DE now. Unfortunately I just don't see Reddick pushing out Gross-Matos as the other DE with leaves Reddick as the odd man out. Latest depth chart I see has Reddick listed at SLB, which would really stink for dynasty value. Mercilus is also showing at SLB right now, but the Texans are in the middle of a switch to 4-3 and Mercilus might well end up as a solid DE. Hard to tell this early in the offseason.

So this destroys whatever small amount of upside Chase Winovich had left correct?

I’d say yes. I don’t see him as a significant enough player at LB relative to his peers following this switch. Basically anyone who went from DE to LB got killed. Their value was tied to being DE. They aren’t good enough to be what they are AND LB designation.

Was Chinn already a lb on mfl?

No, he and Neal remain at S for the time being.

A healthy number of DEs going to DT. Tyree Jackson going to TE makes him a potential Logan Thomas long term, but more athletic. The Houston changes all look interesting, too.

If I'm able to use Neal in the S position all season, how much more valuable does he become? I know he is shifting to LB, but there is a lot of competition (Parsons, Smith, Vander Esch). All the "projections" I've seen have him ranked pretty low. Where are people on Neal's value this season?

I have no idea what to expect for Neal. I do expect he’s moved to LB before the season starts, in which case he’s a big value drop, but even if he doesn’t I’m not sure where he fits in Dallas, as he seems to
Actually be playing LB and he’s not likely a starter, or at least not 3 downs. I like Wilson quite a bit at S.

Neal is a big sell rather quickly for me, though I don’t know if you can get much for him given the uncertainty of him in Dallas with all those LBs. If someone thinks he’s the starting SS and values you like prior years, I’m moving him.

Per Twitter, Gary Davenport really played it soft with the offseason changes for this season. Only changes coming are guys like Neal, Ingram, and Houston, but not guys like Okwara/Flowers in Detroit (who have been stating point blank they are 3-4 and they are OLB this offseason) or Josh Allen / Chaisson in Jacksonville. Seemed to be delaying and delaying the changes so he could get more info / see it, and now basically saying he’s too late. Has the feel of a bad employee of just doesn’t do his job and then at the deadline does the bare minimum, passing the buck to Commissioners to make the changes instead (as if bylaws aren’t a thing). How Neal is more ‘obvious’ (per Gary) than the Detroit situation, I’m not certain. I think he just wants to limit the heat he gets from people for what would be viewed as a negative change. Surprised he even bothered with Neal…

In other news, it sounds like EDGE on MFL is likely available in 2022. That will be its own undertaking for existing leagues. I get the appeal for it though.

They don't do this they get left behind.

Would the NFL start using the Edge designation? Or would it be arbitrarily left up to mfl or your fantasy league manager?
