Got a chuckle out of this one. Got offered out of the blue or aka I didn't express interest in the player before the offer. Startup was this offseason so the pick projections are little more difficult.

Give up: Deebo, 2022 2nd (most likely early)
for
AJ Dillon

I need RB help, but with Aaron Jones re-signing I don't see a path for a while for Dillon. I declined stating I don't want to give a 2nd on top of Deebo for Dillon. So, I countered:

give up: Deebo, 2022 1st (guess is late)
for
Dillon, 2022 1st (guess is mid to early)

He declined, making a reference that he didn't want to gamble with the 1sts. I left it alone because I figured it meant he didn't want to do Dillon for Deebo straight up since I made that comment on his original trade.

Today I get the following trade offer:
Give up: Deebo, 2022 1st, 2022 1st
for
Dillon, 2022 3rd

If I didn't want to give up Deebo and a 2nd for Dillon what made this guy think I wanted to give up Deebo and 2 1sts for Dillon and a 3rd???

That’s a bad offer, don’t get me wrong. But I can understand the how that kind of thing happens. I do it myself from time to time, to a much lesser extent.
But I may offer something like Ertz for a 2022 2nd. And it gets declined. Then, because I like to go fishing, I’ll send out 50 other offers over the next couple of weeks. I may circle back around to the original owner, and not remembering I had made an offer previously, send something like Ertz for 2022 2nd and 3rd. Lol. It happens. I like to quote “Draft Day” when someone calls me out on it- “we live in a different world than we did just 30 seconds ago”.

I should probably clarify that it was the next day that I got the offer not weeks. Less than 24 hours I got both of his offers

I'm friends IRL which a bunch of guys who are dynasty players, some are hardcore players, some more casual. We usually hang out and among other stuff, we commiserate about the shitty offers we get, advise each other on how to respond, and brag about the offers we closed.

One guy tells me about this situation I had to share...

The other owner in question is a particularly infuriating owner that my buddy generally refuses to deal with at all. But the owner posted in GroupMe that he was looking for RB's. Now my buddy has quite a few RB's and is willing to move a couple for a pick, so he offers the guy Chris Carson and Philip Lindsay for pick 1.8. Guy rejects and Counters with bad trade offer #1 - 1.8 for Mike Evans and Chris Carson. Of course my buddy rejects and says to hell with this guy.
The guy then immediately sends out bad trade offer #2 which is My buddy gives Mike Evans, Tyler Boyd, and Chris Carson for...wait for it....pick 1.8 and 2.8. Which of course he rejects and does not engage this guy any further.

The guy then sends a DM on GroupMe about how both his offers were fair, blah blah blah, what are you looking for for those 3 players...
My buddy thinks about it, and tells him. if you want Evans and Boyd added, you will have to add Aiyuk and Josh Allen - so Carson, Lindsay, Evans, Boyd for Aiyuk, Allen, and 1.8, or nothing doing (1QB PPR league BTW). Guy says no bleeping way. Me, I'd have broken my fingers accepting that.

My buddy tells me it was even more hilarious because he and I were negotiating a "real life" business deal with each other while this was going on, and those negotiations were more lucrative and collaborative, and took less time than what this guy made a fantasy football trade out to be. Priorities I guess.

"Quantity of quality" is my favorite type of bad trade offer.
