Overpaid by Gallup and a 2nd, but I don’t hate it for a championship push. I do think Hopkins stays highly productive into his early 30s.
That’s too many valuable young pieces to trade for 1 aging piece IMO. This is the kind of trade that will have you maybe dominating during the regular season and then ousted in the 2nd round. Fantasy is just as much about depth. Hopefully you have some solid backups.
I completely disagree with everyone saying this is an overpay. Hopkins had no showing of slowing down last season. No reason to believe he WONT have another 2+ elite years left. You gave a bunch of question marks and got a top 5 WR for a contending roster. This was an easy W for you. Tired of everyone getting so caught up in "potential" on guys who haven't shown much.
You're right people get so "caught up" in Jacobs' two straight 1300 total yard seasons. Nothing to see there at all. Gallup, Pittman, and a 2nd could never make up the production and value difference between a 23 year old RB and a 28 yr old WR. Hopefully this super team doesn't suffer any injuries because when the drop-off between starters and your backups is steep then all it takes is 1 injury for a major setback.

Yea I’m okay with it. I like sermon but that backfield is just wholly unpredictable. We only start 2 WRs so Rondale was prolly my WR5. I think it’ll pay off by the end of the season

The counterpoint to this is how many people sold Julio Jones "before he hit it the age cliff" 4-5 seasons ago. Jacobs is reliant on volume, Pittman is not going to be the man in Indy. The point of fantasy is to win. Is it a shot that weakens depth, sure. I think it is a shot that can win titles as well.
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

That doesn't seem a ridiculous price for Pitts at all. I've seen some wildly varying opinions on Ekeler. Is this a TEP or 2RB league?
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

PFF are on the record saying he's a top 5 RB fantasy this year, I can't say I disagree... and I maaaay have sent that article to the other owner. He's going to be nails in that new Chargers offense... an absolute PPR weapon.

My league isn't TEP, but it is SF. We start 11 - QB / SF / RB / RB / WR / WR / TE / K / DST / FLX / FLX.

I've included my ridiculous dream team... I'm going for the three-peat this year, and I believe it'll truly help me in the long term. I also think this is probably the last chance to acquire Pitts at anything approaching a reasonable price... once the camp hype starts, it'll be moon-stocks. The league is mad he even traded with me, but it balanced his team (he has no RB's and lots of good WR's and QB's) and I could afford the depth. Frankly, I would have put in even more to get it done - but it worked out.
10 team .5 PPR SF

QB - Mahomes, Jackson, Hurts, Zach Wilson
RB - Saquon, Chubb, AJD, Dobbins, Penny, Gio, T. Jones
WR - Hill, AJB, Diggs, Sutton, Jeudy, Bateman, Watkins, Slayton, Callaway
TE - Goedert, Pitts, OJH, Cook
Taxi - Mims, D. Brown, Jacob Harris
