Trading 21 picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading 21 picks

Postby JoshuaGordon_9 » Mon Nov 30, 2020 7:55 am

Team 1 in signature.
Contender - playoffs are pretty much set. 6th place (final) playoff spot up for grabs, but looks like I'll be 4th. I'm also 4th in points, and ~80 Fantasy points behind 1st, so definitely right in the mix.

Tanking team is interested in my picks. Hes got a few interesting pieces:

Mahomes (Untouchable), Tua, Glennon
Cooper, Julio, Campbell, Hollywood, Sammy, Pascal
Barkley, Montgomery, Harris, Henderson, Gore
Engram, Hurst
1 x 2 3x 1

Given the state of my RBs (COVID) and my lack of TEs, was thinking about pursuing Monty, and Engram.

Would offering
M. Williams, 1, 2
for
Monty, Engram

Be a reasonable starting point?
Team 1: 12T PPR SF no premiums, 4pt TDs
QB(1-2) Herbert, Tua
WR(3-5) AJB, Adams, Sutton, Boyd, Bourne, Wicks
RB(2-4) JT, Kyren, Swift, Singletary, Moss, Ford Dobbins, Tucker
TE(1-3) Hock, Jonnu, Kmet, Kraft
3.06, 3.09

Team 2: 12T PPR, TE premium, SF
QB(1-2) Cousins, Love, Tanny, Trask, McCoy, Zappe
WR(2-6) Lamb, Olave, Hollywood, Godwin, JaMo, Sutton, Diontae, Lazard, McKensie
RB(2-6) ETN, A. Jones, Dillon, Hunt, Moss, K. Miller, S. Tucker
TE(1-5) Hock, Brock Wright, Everett

Team 3: 12T PPR SF TE Prem
QB(1-2) Fields, Young, Darnold, Trask, Dalton
WR(1-6) AJB, Pittman, Hollywood, Sutton, M. Williams, Davis, Meyers, Van Jefferson, Sheperd, McKensie
RB(1-6) Jacobs, Sanders, Akers, Hunt, T. Spears, C. Brown
TE(1-6) Schultz, Hurts, Conklin

Way too much in my opinion. I think Williams is the best player in the deal and last night was the first good game we have seen out of Montgomery. I can understand wanting to add a RB, but I dont think this is a good deal.

Very reasonable, seems fair if you like the players in the deal.

I don’t think any of those pieces puts you over top, so to speak. Montgomery has a good schedule ros, but he hasn’t shown enough to be relied upon. Is Engram enough of an upgrade to give away Williams and your 1st? With starting 3-5 WRs, I would think Williams would be a better play and it appears you have enough RBs to whip up enough starters on a weekly basis. I’d roll with what you have rather than sell the future for what might be enough.

Monty has scored double digits in 6 of his last 7 games and is actually looking very good this year watching him. I've got him almost 30 spots ahead of Williams in my rankings, and I updated them before this week's games.

Anyway, I do still think its too much. Given its a SF, I'd chop off Williams in the deal entirely and offer offer the 1 and 2 because, even at 1.09, I have the pick a little ahead of Montgomery, but the 2 isn't too far behind Engram for me (again, given its superflex).

I'm higher on Williams than most and I could see him improving with Herbert at QB. I still think Montgomery is an interesting prospect and value him around a late 1st. Taking Williams out of the deal as you mentioned makes this a much closer deal.

Looking at your roster makes me think you're built for the next 2-3 years, just not quite there this year. I'd keep the picks and make a stronger push next year.

I am high on Monty for his stretch run and bullish on him for his career. I'd make that buy, maybe start with just the 1 + Williams for Monty and Engram and pivot to a little more if you need to. Engram also a good long term buy given TE longevity and age/situation. His schedule is also easy rest of way (though now with Colt?)
