Pull up a chair, grab that popcorn fellas... the Wentz hit piece is out!

https://theathletic.com/3173631/2022/03 ... ne-season/

Some highlights:
The Athletic's Zak Keefer reports the Colts' issues with ex-QB Carson Wentz "stretched back to before the season began."

Keefer paints a picture of a quarterback who was basically never liked or respected from the second he showed up in Indianapolis. "Over the course of the year, some grew frustrated at what they deemed a lack of leadership, a resistance to hard coaching and a reckless style of play, which had a role in several close losses this year." Other than that Mrs. Lincoln? But there's more. "The quarterback, who learned he was on shaky ground with the organization over the last month, reached out to owner Jim Irsay in hopes of setting up a meeting to 'clear the air,' a source said. But Irsay declined the meeting." Yikes. These are the exact kind of things that were said about Wentz his final days in Philadelphia. He frankly sounds unpleasant to work with. It is impossible to see how this will work in the league's most dysfunctional organization in Washington. Best of luck, "Commanders" fans.

Interesting that leaders like Leonard are openly upset about the move. Pascal, too. Pittman said the opposite. Not saying there isn't some truth, but personally, I don't think the Athletic is worth a dime, and the Colts are about to be a mess unless they can find a QB somehow. Highly over rated GM and HC. I don't blame Irsay after that Jags loss, for wanting something done, but Reich deserves the brunt of that blame, as the HC. None of them were ready to play.

Washington has been lost ever since Kirk Cousins left. Again showing the impact that even solidly above-average QBs have in the NFL.

Chris Ballard somehow convinced a team to take on Wentz' contract in full AND give notable compensation.

It seems like NFL teams are playing a game of “Old Maid” with Wentz.

Ballard is brutal. Paid a first and 3rd I believe, and basically gets 2 thirds back. Unless the incentives are met, then it would be a 2nd, but that move, for 1 year, is fireable in my mind. Both he and Reich should be on the hot seat.

Can't miss a little opportunity to tease you here FF... given that this is a paywalled article and that a subscription to the Athletic is currently worth $1 a month, or in your terms TEN DIMES... I gotta call b.s. here.

No real arguments on the rest, though. I personally think Ballard is pretty sharp at running the cap and finding players in the draft - but letting himself get talked into Wentz at the behest of his Coach - and on those terms, at that price - has got to go as a pretty big black eye on his resume.

Hahaha: So True!

3 Teams in 3 Years. Wentz is simply a mess. It seems pretty obvious he rubs organizations the wrong way. Leadership question marks abound.

I am not even convinced he can beat out Heinicke this season.

Carson is the white Kanye ... over inflated opinion of his own talent that thinks he deserves chance after chance only to get dumped for some lame less talented guy that everyone falls in love with ... can’t handle it or the criticism which he thinks he’s beyond

Both are self professed God fearin’ men so maybe they will be reborn again in ‘22 although it seems they both might’ve made a deal with the devil (in Yeezy’s case Lucifer , Carson ‘s case the devil incarnated Daniel Snyder)
