I'm sitting here typing this after meniscus surgery on both of my knees last week. Almost never is the meniscus repaired. The tear is cut off so it doesn't interfere with knee function. The bloodflow to the meniscus is very limited and therefore doesn't repair well. The only times it actually tries to get repair is usually in people less than 20 and when surgery is performed almost immediately. If surgery isn't performed quickly the tissue dies. Barkley has so much swelling in his knee that the ACL repair isn't happening for about a month. By then the meniscus is essentially dead tissue and a repair isn't possible. He's having a meniscectomy. Make no mistake about it.
...so....sell? Got it.

The meniscus is a slight concern, but it's almost a good thing it happened alongside the torn ACL rather than just a standalone torn meniscus. A lot of times a torn meniscus is treated by just cutting a piece of it out and then letting it heal to get them on the field quicker but obviously leaves them more susceptible to bone on bone issues and what not down the road. Since the ACL takes him out for the year anyway they can go for a more complete repair of the meniscus rather than the quick fix it probably would have been otherwise.
I think if you are fixing a meniscus without cutting away the torn tissue then I believe it's likely microfracture surgery, which isn't great and can lead to knee degeneration.

I like both those deals for you and the Mixon deal is what contenders who owned Barkley should be looking for.

Am I reading this right? He tore the MCL and the meniscus as well? That is not good for his long term outlook. Meniscus tears can lead to problems, including arthritis. Are people just speculating about this?

On one hand, that doesn't sound good, but on the other hand, as someone brought up earlier...Saquon is a freak of a physical specimen in an AP level. If there's anyone who could potentially overcome that, it would be him.

Is it confirmed that it's more than the ACL?

I read ACL and meniscus with a MCL sprain. Idk how accurate that is.

Just found it. He partially tore his meniscus, too.

Full details on #Giants RB Saquon Barkley’s knee: He tore his ACL, partial tore his meniscus and has a strained MCL (which won’t have to be fixed in surgery). That means in 2-4 weeks he’ll have surgery to allow swelling and inflammation to go down.

The meniscus tear is not being widely reported at all and would be easy to miss. But, go off I guess??

Googling “saquon meniscus tear” brings up plenty of results at the top.

https://www.giants.com/news/saquon-bark ... go-surgery

The NY Giants article from their own website makes no mention of MCL or meniscus. Seems like they don't want people talking about it. Neither does the Yahoo, Sporting News, or ESPN articles that show up on the first page for "Saquon Barkley injury". You'd have to know he tore it to google it.

Feels like you're angry about something else maybe?
