Seeking Kicker (yes, kicker..) advice

Postby Cojo 2020 » Thu Aug 20, 2020 3:29 pm

A question about kickers may seem strange, but in our league PKs can have a decent effect on weekly scoring. Our kicker scoring is as follows:

FG = 3 points plus
an additional 2 points if 31-40 yds
an additional 3 points if 41-50 yds
an additional 4 points if 51-55 yds
an additional 5 points if 56-57 yds
an additional 10 points if 58+ yds

Missed FG is -1 points, plus
an additional penalty of -3 points if 0-30 yds
an additional penalty of -2 points if 31-40 yds
an additional penalty of -1 point if 41-50 yds

PAT = 1 point
Missed PAT = - 5 points

So I have Matt Gay/TB and Younghoe Koo/ATL on my roster. I like both, but usually only roster one PK and pick one up on waivers for the bye week. Which one would you keep? I have room to keep both, but that seems crazy to me...even with our scoring system...but maybe I'm wrong? :D

Never keep two kickers. I've contemplated rostering none and just streaming kickers all season long. I'd go with Gay, but just pick whoever you like more and use the other roster flexible for FA pickups.

Pick who you feel has more upside between the two.

Matt Gay is the pick here. They both are on teams that score a lot but with the major deep FG bonuses the Bucs have trusted Gay to attempt FGs over 50 much more than the Falcons have trusted Koo.
