Seriously, what in the Seven Hells was the NFL thinking? They know FF is important to their bottom line, but then they come out with a schedule that has no teams with a week 12 bye and then have TB and CAR on a week 13 bye, right smack in a lot of FF leagues rd 1 playoffs.
It’s almost like they intentionally went out of their way to piss off FFers. Can anyone explain this rationally, and does anyone have any ideas on to best deal with the week 13 bye?
I think that you're missing the larger picture. The NFL's schedule is brilliant for this year in the need to delay the start of the season.
Week 1 can be added to the end of the season (replacing the Pro Bowl week?).
Week 2 feature matchups between teams that have the same bye.
Weeks 3 and 4 have no conference games, and every team has one home game and one away game.
If the NFL season starts on time, then great! If they need to start two weeks late, then they're all set. If they need to cancel the first four games of the season, then it's easy.
This schedule is simply brilliant.

For fantasy football, that leaves us with two thoughts:
1) If the NFL schedule goes as planned, then plan ahead in drafting players with a Week 13 bye.
2) If the NFL schedule is delayed, then that erases the issue of the Week 13 bye.
Bottom line, the NFL should be given serious props for the work that they did.
