Rookie Draft coming up, HELP!

Postby Houptie » Mon Apr 27, 2020 12:10 pm

I have my Dynasty Rookie Draft coming up. 12 team Superflex. Current team sits at:
QB: Dak, Kyler, Daniel Jones, Luck, Alex Smith, PJ Walker
RB: Saquon, Hunt, Penny, Edmonds, Mckinnon, Jeff Wilson
WR: Cooper, OBJ, Chark, Gallup, Beasley, Josh Reynolds, JJAW, Preston Williams, Justin Watson
TE: Goedart, Gesicki, Warring, OJ Howard, Drew Sample

Highest priority need is to fill my RB2 slot. I think with this team I can compete this year.
I have the 1.01, 1.03, 1.05, 2.01, 2.02, 2.03 and 3.01.

What would your strategy going into the draft be? Assuming you cant make any trades.

QB + RBs look to be your biggest needs, but BPA is always safe.

I'd go Burrow at 1.01. The top two RBs left on your board at 1.03 and 1.05. Then grab value and BPA with the other picks.
Now since it's a superflex and not straight 2QB. If you're league doesn't value QBs as much your draft could play out something like this: 1(RB), 3(QB-Burrow), 5 (RB) or 1 and 3 (RB) and 5 is Tua
16 team 1ppr
Jackson, Tua, Bridgewater
Sutton, ARob, Higgins, D. Harris
Barkley, Chubb, McKissic, D. Williams, Felton
Piits, Tonyan, Smith
LB: Wilson, Parsons, Milano, Reddick, Baker, Greenlaw, Walker Jr.
DL: C. Heyward, Flowers, Hunter, Franklin-Myers
DB: Harrison Smith, Abram, Davis III, Bradberry, Maye

Team 2
16 Team 0.5 ppr
QB:Jackson, Mills, Eason, Newton
RB: Barkley/Najee/Gaskin/Hines/Sony/Johnson, Stevenson
WR: Chase/Juju/Aiyuk/Mike Williams/Beasley/N. Harry/Will Fuller/Cephus/D. Brown
TE: Pitts/Knox
DST:49ers, Titans
K: Koo

Team 3 2019 - Champion
12 team SF
Mahomes, Wentz, Jones
Mixon, Lindsay, Drake, Hines, Murray, Carter
Hopkins, M. Williams, Chase, McLaurin, Ridley, Samuel, Washington, Davis, D. Brown
Hockenson, Smith, Cook

I said this bc I anticipated getting a lot of trade back advice. Which I’m trying to. But if there are no takers... then?

1.01 Burrow
1.03 CEH/JT
1.05 Dobbins/Swift

Nobody wants to move up to 1.01 for Burrow?

Assuming that, you're really fine at QB with Dak, Kyler, and Daniel Jones. I know everyone is all over the Burrow train, but I highly doubt he outproduces Dak and Kyler over the next 4 years. I'd go CEH/Taylor at 1.01, then at 1.03 you're staring at Burrow/Taylor depending on who went at 1.02. Then take BPA at 1.05 which will probably be Swift/Dobbins.

You're team is a legit contender if you hit on 2 RBs. Burrow doesn't help you at all.

This is the route i would take. And if you do not take Burrow at 1.01 either Burrow or Tua will be available at 1.03 and then still have lots of options at 1.05. Or even wait until 1.05 to go QB as only two of the QBs can go between 1.1-1.5 so you could have two RB's of choice and Herbert or Burrow or Tua at 1.05 (one of those would have to be there)

I hear ya but you don't have to move back, you could move one of your current QB. I like the Burrow/RB/RB strategy if I'm using the 3 picks

with out trades I see three strats depending on the RB you want....
If you want CEH and think he goes at 1.02
You Go
1.01 CEH
1.03 Best QB
1.05 Swift-Dobbins-Akers
BPA

If you dont care about qb you could go
RB heavy and land 3 out of the top 5 RB's

or traditional
1.01 Borrow
1.03 CEH Taylor
1.05 Swift Dobbins Akers
