Could be. I'd give it no thought if this hadn't been a thing from day 1.

I guess it does lend a bit more drama to draft day.

That doesn't sound like the Bengals, and with the Palmer's in his ear, I could see it being said to the Bengals in private. Whether they trade the pick, that's a different story.

Miami allegedly loves him, at least the owner does, and obviously has the pieces to get it done if they really want to and Cincinnati is willing to cooperate.

Yep.

As a Chargers fan I would LOVE to see them somehow pull off a deal for him, and it would be a great situation for him to walk into (although ownership admittedly is only a little better than Cincy's), they really are only a QB away from contention.

He isn't walking in better than Rivers.

But recent history has shown us you can compete for SBs with the right 2nd or 3rd year QB, the Chargers have everything else in place, just need to improve the OL a little more and avoid the devastating injuries that have been plaguing them for years.

Most of the QB needy teams are either bad teams or dysfunctional organizations or both except for maybe New England. And I don't think New England has the means or desire to buy that pick.

It's been rumored all off-season though, with Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk really spear-heading it. I'm starting to think there's at least a little fire behind all this smoke we've been hearing about Burrow not wanting to go to Cincy.

Yeah, but Burrow hasn't said publicly that he won't play for the Bengals and if the draft were today...that's where he's going and signing. Feels like a trade demand would be more public by now

Of course he's not going to say it publically, especially with this much time still to go before the draft.
