CoVid-19, the NFL Draft and the 2020 NFL Season

We just saw both NCAA tournaments closed to spectators. This is just the first major shoe to drop in the US sports world. My guess is that the NFL Draft will follow suit (it's a huge street party in Las Vegas this year) and we may see professional leagues like NHL, NBA and ultimately the NFL go fan-less. I personally do not see how they can shutter the NCAA to fans and let pro leagues continue.

Anyway, there has been no mention or discussion about the 800 lbs panda bear here. But I think it does deserve a thread and let's discuss how this pandemic will affect the US sports world, the NFL and ultimately dynasty football.

Please also let us know just how much TP you have currently on hand!

It could really change the draft and I would think they’ll do something different, like instead of having it outside at the Bellagio, probably do it indoors, without fans. I went to day 2, last year in Nashville and there were over 100,000 people on Main Street, it was crazy. Definitely don’t want anything like that in Vegas with everything going on.

Note: 4- Jumbo 9 packs Sam’s Club, lol

this. people are so uninformed. All they see is Chinese people being dragged out of their homes kicking and screaming...

We live in America. The greatest country on earth, and one that has already found a viable treatment for this new flu.

Unless you are 80 years old with COPD or something, you have nothing to worry about. zero. I'm not sure how many of those go to the NFL draft... I'll guess very few.

Amen brother. I don't specialize in ID or epidemiology, but regardless the whole thing has been a mess to watch unravel.

Okay I'm not going to go ham on this, but what makes the carona virus unique is not it's symptoms or mortality rate, it's the transmission and the fact that you are contagious well before you show signs of illness. So you feeling fine walking around while infected, is actually spreading the virus to people, before you or anyone else would even suspect you were ill, and the problem compounds.

Any healthy person will likely not die from it. But you could have it and pass it on to someone who would be at risk of having serious health complications caused by the virus.

Agreed, and if it spreads too fast, we won’t be able to handle the influx of patients.

What makes it unique is the mass media fear mongering.

This might really impact opposing fans at Chargers games.

I think the NFL draft will be without fans this year. They won't want to, but I think they will be forced to. Sucks for Vegas, as this was the opportunity to get fans going on the NFL locally.
