Blake Jarwin

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Blake Jarwin

Postby iron » Thu Jan 30, 2020 2:31 pm

Didn't see much about Jarwin on the boards, so I am posting. Obviously, the Witten decision is huge, so I am trying to do something before hand while his value is still low. My TE situation is dire in this TE premium league. So, we have 16 teams and Witten finished 12th in TE scoring and Jarwin 25th. If you combine their scores, the DAL TE's would have finished 3rd.

I have a 3rd round pick that I am thinking about offering for him. That team has Engram and would part with him. Is this a reasonable offer, or should I keep the pick and get BPA or even try for a FA (only Cook, Eifert, Rudolph and Graham are the notable FA available).

Thanks - Team 1 below.

Jarwin has shown flashes, but landing spot / target share will be important. We've seen TEs like Clive Walford and Trey Burton get overhyped in the offseason, so I wouldn't count on Jarwin as a lock.

That said, a 3rd in a deep 16-team league is pretty cheap to take a shot on your guy, especially in TE prem. If you like Jarwin, that seems like a pretty cheap price. Go for it.

I would think you could still get Jarwin for a 3rd even if Witten retires.

I might hold onto the pick for a bit to let things play out.
I'm in too many leagues to list them here

Great thoughts. I forgot all about the once highly coveted Walford ha ha.

It's part of the reason I like building rosters with elite TEs and TE depth. Then you're never scrambling for TE help and can afford to sell all the fringe TE prospects for 2nds in the offseason. I will be looking to sell Knox and Thomas for profit this offseason.

Past Examples:
  • Sold Dallas Goedert + Dante Pettis for 1.07 + 2.03 last offseason
  • Added Delanie Walker off WW and flipped him + Robby Anderson for Tyler Lockett last offseason
  • Sold Trey Burton + late 1st for Brandin Cooks a couple of years ago
  • Almost sold Kittle for a late 1st after his rookie year but thankfully believed in him and held
