2020 1.01 Trade

Postby PhillySpecial » Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:44 pm

I acquired a 2020 1st in our 2019 rookie draft. I was on the clock at 2.06 and an owner offered his 2020 1st for my 2.06. I smash accepted and he drafted Mecole Hardman during the Tyreek fiasco. The owner that sent over his 2020 1st is currently 1-4 and selling off pieces to rebuild. I think I may have the 2020 1.01 or at worst the 1.03.

The owner is relentless in acquiring his 1st back and I have revoked many of his offers that are 'fair' but I know that I pick is going to double in value once rookie fever hits in Spring 2020. He has offered two 2020 2nd's and Royce Freeman (I reached out about Royce a few weeks ago). I told him I am holding the pick until he overpays. We are discussing a late 2020 1st, his 2020 2nd (2.01 to 2.03) and Royce. Thoughts on this deal? I am actually leaning on holding the pick.
10 Team. SF PPR. 25 player roster. 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2 Flex, 1 SF, 1D
QB - Jalen Hurts. Dak Prescott. Justin Herbert. Geno Smith.

WR - AJ Brown. Amon Ra St Brown. DJ Moore. Chris Godwin. Keenan Allen. Amari Cooper. Curtis Samuel. Adam Thielen.
TE - Evan Engram. Dallas Goedert. Darren Waller.

2024, 2025, 2026 - no firsts, no seconds, numerous 3rds, 4ths, 5ths.

Easily hold the pick for that offer. Freeman does not look good. You could be looking at Taylor, Swift, Jeudy...hold unless you get a massive overpay and even then holding for rookie fever is probably a good move.

hold.....I like the 2 early 2nd's...more darts to throw......but would need alot more....would also look at 2021 1st and the late 2020 1st he is offering...but I think you can get more....

so minimum 2020 late 1st, 2 2020 2nds, and his 2021 1st. gives you 4 dart throws

doesn't look like a SF league so early picks will be backs, and you have lots of young backs.....so would not hesitate to move just has to be right...... so I would propose the minimum and tell him to add something to it.....and see where it goes.....

I'm holding that pick unless it's an overpay. Does he have any upside pieces? WR or RB in particular

Piling on, unless he wants to add 2021 1 to that I’d hold.

Good to hear everyone piling on to hold the pick. I have told him numerous times I have no interest in trading the pick until he overpays. He seems to think a late 1st, early 2nd and Royce is already an overpay so we are miles apart on the valuation. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy in my valuation.

He has Barkley, Dalvin Cook, Diggs and mostly RB3/4 and WR4/5 types. Very top heavy with little depth while I am a little light at top but have decently strong depth.

If he has cook and Barkley he knows how much early firsts can cost. It’s the right move to hold it. If that’s 1.01 and one of the top RBs lands in the perfect spot they will be worth plenty more than that offer.

No way would I move that pick. By the time the combine arrives it'll increase in value by at least 25-50% compared to now. The only thing by that could derail the inflation process is a bad landing spot for the top guys in the NFL draft. That won't likely happen to all of them. Otherwise, it's just going to continue to increase in value right up until your actual rookie draft. Hold it, and I may keep it no matter what cause I really like this draft class. Unless, the offer is so good it's dumb.
