What do I not understand about dynasty??

So I’ve won champs and I’ve been in multiple finals in multiple leagues but I always seem to make some idiotic mistakes along the way.

Traded a pair of firsts for marshawn (in his prime) that ended up being Leveon and another player I don’t remember.

Last year I traded a 1st (late) for Alex Collins before the draft

This year I was debating trading for Carlos Hyde and it looks like he may be done as well

Where should I be trying to get better information from? Any good guidance out there!?

ya if you would have come here asking about sending a first for collins you would have found 1 dude who would say to do it. everyone else would have said steer clear.

dont trade for rbs in their prime and pay premium, rbs can be done overnight. wr and te are much better long term buys. buying keenan allen or zach ertz right now for a premium wont be as likely to blow up in your face like buying lev bell or todd gurley might.

seems the thing you dont get about dynasty are the buy sell and hold windows. but we all have our hits and misses, learn from those mistakes and grow.

I would say if you post some of those decisions on this forum you’ll get some good responses. While no one on here is perfect and I often disagree with many people the collective opinions of guys on here will steer any dynasty team in the right decision.

As mentioned, this site and forum is a great resource for opinions on trades and roster moves. Never a bad idea to post any/all trade offers/thoughts that come your way and that you are thinking about sending out. Sounds like you are struggling with when to buy and sell players and for how much. A lot of this is based on team build and looking realistically if your team is a contender/rebuilding/retooling/or just another playoff team. I'm also a fan of holding picks unless your team is in a true win now time frame as moving 1st's for a pure hype player can really turn out badly. As Big Bawse said, we have all made really bad moves in dynasty. Improve on those moving forward. It took me 2 - 3 years to stop my old ways ha ha.

Marshawn trade was just bad luck. We all make bad trades, but as long as the good ones equal them out or outnumber them, you'll be fine. This is probably the best place to come to for advice before making trades if you're unsure about it.

We're all friends here right? Sure, we all make poor trades etc but 7 or 8/10 times if you ask for help on here you will get the right answer. No harm in asking.

sure, is there any place i can get good suggestions on player outlooks? i mean Collins looked really good down the stretch 2 years ago and seemed to have a workhorse role moving to 2018...obviously that didnt pan out.

Identify your window, and concentrate your assets for the window.

Add your teams to your sig with lineup requirements and scoring. That's helpful context for when/if you decide to get input on decisions.

TBH dynasty is pretty tough to judge trades. If you trade for a guy that wins you a ship but the guys you trade away end up blossoming and win the other guy two championships did you win or lose the deal?

We are all going to have hits and misses. You could do one move and end up succeeding, but do the same kind of move a different year and have it not end up panning out. Hindsight is difficult in dynasty leagues.

I pretty much guarantee that if everyone on here post top 5 bad / good trades then you would be shocked. All have been there, done that, it just making trades that you think best fit you.

Moved Kamara + Corey Davis + 1st for OBJ during Kamara's rookie year the first game he broke out.

Guidance you can find here and other places. But I think the one thing that you may not realize you are getting about dynasty, is that you may lose individual trades, but as long as you "win" more trades than you "lose" you will have a net improvement to your team.

Hows this about stupid moves. I got tired of waiting for Davante Adams to do something, so I dropped him. Ranks up there with the stupidest moves. And no, no one was interested in trading for him.
