He looks like he's got juice on these tackle breaks. Dude is strong. And I greatly enjoyed him destroying a Cincy rusher with a cut in pass po - sent him flying upended. That's the way to get noticed as a rookie. He's also being rotated in and out of the empty sets too - this is all great signs for getting passing downs work. He is going to have no trouble beating out Darrell Williams, that much is clear... he looks lost out there.

Bad concentration drop on that screen near the end of the half though. Excited to see his second half, I'll bet he's mad about that one.

Darwin looks great as expected (by me anyway).

Weeks 2 and 3 will be telling for what to expect this season.

Respect, Mike. Your "Six Players I am acquiring" put me on to him, and I made sure I grabbed him at the end of my draft... I think his skillset in this offense is going to be deadly.

He's going to be a limited touches guy, but could be a decent COP back. Dropping passes isn't a good thing, though. At 190 pounds, he needs to secure those, or your a 190 pound 2 down back. He's a 10-12 touch a game guy, I think.

Darwin has crazy power for his size. I wouldn't write him off as a fit in the offense. As a Damien owner I feel like I might have the real darkhorse on my bench already.

He came back and made a nice catch after a drop for that TD. He's tiny, but he's a great looking COP back.

He was 198 pounds on his pro day, and it's reasonable to think he'll only get bigger on a pro training schedule. He's already got an extra 20lbs on Tarik Cohen's weight coming in... if the Chiefs are about to have a COP air-downs back then we all should be buying, even if it is just 10-12 touches - these will be quality touches.

He destroyed his workout, despite not getting a combine invite. Would have possibly been the 2nd most athletic RB in this draft, per testing:

If something happens to Damien Williams this season (arguably something already has) then... watch out.

He's 190. He said it himself. He cut weight to get quicker and more explosive. He could become an Austin Ekeler type of player. He looks good.

BTW, he had an incredible cut block 1 vs 1 tonight that the entire crowd "oooh"-ed at. It was impressive.

Damien is the guy. Darwin becomes the guy if Damien gets hurt. Hyde is always there taking carries from either cuz neither can carry a full load.

I traded both DWills for DMont. Bigger trade than that, but that’s the rough equivalent.

I expect my point total this year goes down a bit, but I prefer the move long term.

Oh man thanks! TBH I only wanted to do a piece on Thompson but they wanted me to write about 5 people, so I had to add some fluff.

I got him in every league really cheap. 4th rounders or waiver wire fodder. His return on investment is going to be great.

I think Darwin Thompson playing punt coverage team during the 3rd quarter should pump the breaks on the hype of him scoring one touchdown against 3rd stringers.
