Keke

Postby PhillySpecial » Sat Jul 06, 2019 6:51 am

Thoughts on Keke? Do you think he will be the WR2 in Houston with Fuller always on the IR?

I was going to offer a 2020 2nd for Keke - good or bad?

Would a projection of 100 targets be around right?

keke was injured a lot last season so your reasoning isn't very sound. a reason to think that he might be the wr2 is because in games they both played he drew significantly more targets though.

I like Keke, I've held him through a couple offers of a late 2019 2nd and then a likely late 2020 2nd. Idk his ceiling, or what to project, but I liked what I saw last year and if he can stay healthy he has potential to be O'Briens "Welker-like" player in that offense.

A late 2nd rounder in 2019 seems like a solid price for Keke. Not sure I would offer much more, though he did show some upside.

I don't disagree I just think his upside is more valuable to me than the late 2nd.

I think he flashed in a little in the season and had a great playoff game. Watson is fully healed from his ACL and I like buying young young players while still at a value on good offences.

The recent DLF article has the late 2nd round as this:

2.08 – Damien Harris, RB Patriots
2.09 – Irv Smith Jr., TE Vikings
2.10 – Diontae Johnson, WR Steelers
2.11 – Miles Boykin, WR Ravens
2.12 – Kelvin Harmon, WR Redskins

I don' think I am interested in trading away the upside of Keke for any of those guys. Keke is only 22 years old and linked up with one of he best young QBs in the game. He is a hold for me, it would have to be a late 1st for me to even think about trading him away.

I’m high on Keke and think he will do really well in HOU. He has to stay healthy, but he developed a nice little rapport with Watson last year in the games that he played.

Just as a reference, I packaged Keke, a 2020 2nd, 2021 3rd for Lockett and 2020 4th.

I think that is a fair offer and I like KeKe but I just worry that it might always take a Fuller injury for him to be a weekly play. It’s more about Watson wanting to air it out more often and using Keke less as a slot receiver for shorter passes. Guess it all depends on play calling this year but I think he’s a talented receiver.

I ended up trading a 2020 2nd for Keke. I expect to get a few more 2020 picks back throughout the season so I am happy with this trade.
