Kittle, Howard, 1.01 oh my

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Kittle, Howard, 1.01 oh my

Postby GreenAndWhite81 » Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:08 pm

Haven't been super active this off-season, but am starting to get back into it and had an offer hit my inbox for one of my contender teams in a 12 team, PPR, standard MFL scoring league. (Just one of their basic Tins.)

I give OJ Howard, 1.01
I receive Kittle, 1.08

Is this where Kittle's value is now? Is this a good play?

It'd be for the following team:

Rodgers/Winston
Barkley/Gurley/Mack/D Freeman
Hopkins/Evans/Diggs/Tate
Howard/Reed/Hurst

I'm okay with a little bit of an overpay, just not an ugly one.

Any advice is appreciated.

Yeah you can afford to make this deal. I’m personally cautious when it comes to Kittle though so it comes down to how you view him. Fair offer in my opinion.

Especially in this year's class where I don't think there is a consensus 1.01 and the drop between 1.01 and 1.08 is much less than usual, I'd say this is an easy trade to make for Kittle.

You can afford to make this deal. As mentioned above, this class makes it a little easier.

Imo I really dont like paying for TE, premium or not. I think its good value if you like Kittle. But, i think you have a good TE and the 1.1 gives more options.

WR - D. Adams, J Chase, J. Jeudy, D. Mims, R. Bateman, A Rodgers
TE - Kittle, K Pitts, J. Smith, L. Thomas,

Team 2 - 12 Team PPR SF BB - 22 man roster

I would never do this. For this to be worth it, two things must both happen: (1) Kittle must remain a Kelce/Ertz/Gronk-in-his-prime difference-maker, and (2) Howard must not be in that tier.

IMO, those are just not likely both to be the case. I'll take 1.01 (or use it to trade for someone other than Kittle).

You’re forgetting to factor in that people will pay an overly high price for 1.01 in ANY draft. Not to mention Howard’s ceiling is higher than Kittle imho. I wouldn’t give the 1.01 itself for Kittle and 1.08. Not because I don’t think it’s fair, but because I think I can get someone to pay more for the 1.01.

And definitely not before the draft takes place

I was surprised by all the early posts. I also wouldn't do this.

I feel like the 1.1 is too valuable.

I'm also pretty high on OJ Howard.

I need to see another year from Kittle before I pay prices as if he is the real deal

Unless you are in love with Jacobs I'd make this deal. I wouldn't be surprised if you can get one of the WR's you really like with the 1.08 so upgrading to Kittle seems like a no brainer to me.

Howard is about to break out big time. 1.01 AND OJ for Kittle is asinine.

Dynasty community recency bias is bananas. I was laughing at people saying sure things like Evans > barkley when barkley was coming in. Things change so quickly.

Kittle was the only healthy player on San Fran last year

I think you should wait until we see landing spots for these players, a clear 1.01 may emerge at the point, raising the value of your pick.
