2020 1st for Brady?

Postby keebs3 » Fri Mar 22, 2019 11:46 pm

16 team SF

New league- most teams are pretty thin. I only have one QB- would you trade a 2020 1st (maybe early-mid) for Tom Brady? I'll still have 3 first next year to draft a backup. Or do I ride out the mess and go in next year?
Not sure a QB will be left at 1.05 so I might be out of luck for a 2nd QB. Most other QBs in the league are going to cost at least 2 firsts if not 3.
*Sam Darnold, for example, would cost me the 1.05 and 2 2020 1sts

QB: Aaron Rodgers
SF: Tyrod Taylor
RB: Devonta Freeman
RB: Royce Freeman
WR: Keenan Allen
WR: Sterling Shepard
TE: Hunter Henry
FLEX: Josh Doctson
FLEX: Anthony Miller
FLEX: TJ Yeldon

Bench
QB: Kyle Lauletta
RB: John Kelly/Malcom Brown/Alex Collins/Ryan Nall
WR: Donte Moncrief/Jake Kumerow/Richie James/Amara Darboh
TE: Ricky Seals-Jones/Cameron Brate/Michael Roberts

1.05
(4) 2020 1sts
(3) 2020 2nds

This is why it is super important to draft QBs early in a super flex startup, especially in a 16 team league. I wish you the best of luck.

Hold. You are not competing this year but in great shape to fill needs next year. You also may be able to get Haskins at 1.05.

Do you think a QB will be available at 1.5 as that would be an option? If you dont think you can get a qb in this draft or the next, I would trade picks to get a good one.
Team 1 - 12 team PPR - 20 man roster
Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2Flex

QB - Hurts, Fields
RB - Barkley, D. Swift, A.J Dillion, J. Kelley, R. Penny, J Williams, A, McFarland, M. Mack
WR - D. Adams, J Chase, J. Jeudy, D. Mims, R. Bateman, A Rodgers
TE - Kittle, K Pitts, J. Smith, L. Thomas,

Team 2 - 12 Team PPR SF BB - 22 man roster
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 SF

QB - Watson, T Lance, M Jones, C Newton
RB - M Sanders, A Gibson, M Gordon, Duke Johnson, J Kelley,
WR - C Godwin, C Ridley, T Boyd, AJ Brown, L Shenault, J Reagor, K Toney, T Marshall
TE - Z Ertz, J Smith, L Thomas, H Long

This. No need to trade a 1st when you are not competing for a 40+ year old QB

Piling on. If you aren't competing... don't trade a 2020 1st in what should be a good class for an old man.. unless you somehow luck into the playoffs
Too many teams and lineup changes to keep track of them all.

Blow this team up. Trade Rodgers go a young qb and whatever else you can get. His value is down, but in a 16 team superflex I would hope you could get Garappalo (or similar) and a couple first’s. I’d sell Allen and Freeman too. You already have a nice haul of 2020 picks, but your current stars will be fading hard. If you blow it up, I bet you are a strong contender in 2021 if you draft well. If you don’t I think you will be middling.

many think that Rodgers is declining (I think he bounces back), but I think the days of getting GQ and 2 1sts for him are over....for that reason, I would not be shopping Rodgers right now...you might be better off waiting until the season starts
I would not trade a 2020 1st for Brady...who knows, this may be his last season
I think you may be able to get a QB at 1.05 (fingers crossed)...but one top QB, one great landing spot for a RB, and a couple of WRs makes 4 players....you may be able to get a Haskins or Lock at 1.05..
I wish you luck, I love challenging leagues

I voted yes, but then I read the post - doesn't look like you're a contender, just keep your pick for now.

Everyones roster is trash at first in a 16 teamer. Hard to tell where I stand.
I have this offer (or close)

Rodgers and Devonta
for
Jimmy G, Mid 2nd, Cooks

Is that close if I can turn that into a 1st?

I’m usually super confused when people say “this team isn’t competing” and it’s a startup team, but... it’s gonna be tough with essentially only Rodgers at QB in a SF. It’s very very possible Brady throws this team into the mix, but personally I’m not spending a 2020 first for him if I have this team. Honestly I’m not sure Brady for a 2020 1st would be my target even if it was a very strong contender.
