First time in salary cap league and need help assigning contract lengths. It’s a 16 teamer, 18-25 roster spots, lineup: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 3 Flex, 1 SF. $1,000 hard cap and must not exceed 45 years total when assigning contract length to all players on roster, 1-5 years to any one player.

My team:
B Roethlisbergee $123
M Rudolph $18
D Guice $115
T Cohen $77
M Mack $71
R Penny $51
K Ballage $15
K Dixon $14
J Adams $11
M Evans $142
M Williams $81
C Davis $71
C Sutton $63
A Callaway $47
R Foster $15
D Chark $3
J Moore $2
C Herndon $49
I Thomas $18
G Everett $15

Any suggestions on dropping any 1-2 players to free up cap space? Otherwise, how many years for each player not exceeding 45?

You could drop Everett and Dixon and Thomas (unless you assign him multiple years).

As for contracts, start by asking whom you think will be the best VALUE (i.e., most under-priced) in 3-5 years regardless of talent or opportunity in 2019. Give them the longest contracts. Give the guys whom you think would go for about the same amount next year 0-year (or 1-year, depending on your league's language) contracts.

Then fill in the rest.

Good luck!

I'm willing to throw out suggestions, but I need a point of reference. What is the going rate for players on other teams? Can you post a couple of other team's rosters....preferably teams that made the playoffs last year....?
