Mike Mayock the new Raiders GM
Interesting hire. Have to wonder if him and Gruden will back Carr next year or going forward.

I am pretty happy about this. With our influx of first round picks, I am hoping Mayock can help us hit on them. I am not sure how he will manage the financial side, though. I am sure he will have advisors to help him.
I wonder who the new NFL Network is going to replace him with.

I am a huge Mayock fan when the NFL draft rolls around...he is a big reason I ended up with Alvin Kamara in a few places as I still remember him being beside himself when Kamara slid out of the first two rounds (Mayock had him as a top 30 player I believe). That is a small sample size of course, but he was always a guy I would go to as a tie breaker when I was torn on a few players for dynasty drafts. Now, I still think Gruden will bury this team but this seems like the perfect hire as a GM considering the type of GM Gruden is looking for.

I agree that this is an interesting hire. Could turn out to be a solid hire if he can keep hitting on draft picks.

I just loved his mock draft that always broke right before the NFL draft, his analysis during the combine and actual draft. Darn you Oakland. How dare you!

This. Mayock was the biggest reason why I prefer NFL Network's draft coverage over ESPN, I'm definitely going to miss hearing his analysis during draft season. Mayock was a way more entertaining and informative analyst than Kiper is. I'm not really concerned with what happens with the Raiders and am more curious what happens with NFL Network now.
