Acquiring Top Tier Talents

Postby SD Palooka » Wed Mar 09, 2011 2:07 pm

I have a very deep roster and would like to acquire some top tier talent. I'm looking for any and all advice (who to keep, who to target, trade package deals, etc.)

10 Team "Dynasty-Keeper-Hybrid" League. TD Heavy.

Head to Head, 1QB/ 2RB/ 3WR/ 1FLEX (RB/WR/TE)

Scoring: All TD's=6pts. Rushing/Receiving (not combined)100+yds=3pts. Passing 300+yds=3pts.TD's of 50+yds=3pts. I don't necessarily enjoy this scoring system, but it is what it is.

We keep 7 positional players and a DST from a 20 man roster. No more than 3 at any one position (WR/TE are one position). Off-Season cuts are late July/Early August. I have the 5th slotting in the 2011 draft.

My Team:

QB's: M. Vick, Big Ben, K. Kolb.

RB's: R. Mend, F. Gore, J. Stew, R. Mathews, M. Lynch, B. Scott.

WR's: V. Jackson, D. Bryant, B. Marshall, J. Maclin, M. Colston, D. Branch, D. Thomas (Den), Ochocinco.

Thanks for the help.

I would focus on trading F.Gore and one of your wide outs for either a Top tier RB or WR.... If you have a weak TE, then i would try to improve that as well with a lower cost ( maybe trade Lynch and Branch or Closton)..

so does that mean ur going to shrink ur team back to 7 players and a dst this year?? if thats the case then trade gore and maybe maclin or dez for a top 5 wr and trade vick to some guy who thinks he can repeat in 2011

This is a hard question to answer without seeing the other team's rosters from your league.

I can see where you would want to make a trade because if you don't you're going to lose three very solid players. I would focus on teams that are weak in one position. For example if a team is weak at WR but has one stud you might be able to trade Maclin and Colston for that one stud (Fitz, Nicks, Calvin, etc...). Or maybe its a RB/WR combo.

That's where I would start. You do have a very nice team though.

Without posting all 10 rosters...there are 3 owners that have top tier talent without much team depth.

Team A has:

QB - Flacco, Stafford, Cassel
RB - AP, A. Foster, J. Charles
WR - B. Lloyd, M. Crabtree, A. Boldin

Team B has:

QB - Manning
RB - P. Hillis, S. Greene, B. Wells
WR - Fitz, Nicks, Britt

Team C has (this owner is extremely non-active):

QB - T. Romo, M. Shaub
RB - R. Rice, K. Moreno, J. Best, F. Jones
WR - M. Wallace, P. Harvin

Is Gore/Marshall fair for Fitz or Nicks?
Is Roethlisberger/Mendy/Marshall fair for AP?
