continuing with coach speak:
"Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard is working on some issues to help him become a better receiver out of the backfield, according to new running backs coach Charles London, who mentioned hand placement, focus and concentration and hand-eye coordination as some of the areas he is hoping to see improvement."
I wouldn't call that coach-speak in the sense we usually mean it, i.e. disingenuous overstatement/optimism. It's appropriate for a coaching staff to work on a given player's obvious deficiencies. The question is whether or not it'll really make a difference. History indicates it probably won't. Even if Howard's hands cease to be stone, he doesn't have the hips and feet to run many routes well.

It was actually before this thread but I've been trying to think of what would be the "Coachspeak Mount Rushmore" and came up with Adam Gase, Pete Carroll and Chuck Pagano so far, who should be the 4th?
Coach Jerry Jones?

Jerrick McKinnon.

There is no way he performs up to what he costs right now. He's at an all-time high in value for his career, and if I were an owner, I'd be cashing in before everyone realizes how mediocre he is during the season.

He's just not an elite NFL running back.

Very underrated this season IMO. Most talented receiver on that roster.

I can see this one. Them adding ASJ and Moncrief suggests a greater reliance on passing in the red zone. If it pans out, Bortles is a sneaky get.

Anybody that any coach talks up in the off season. I can’t remember one time that a coach talks someone up and then they follow through.

His pitiful '17 tape grade of 47.8 begs to differ.

I've also grown extremely grown leary of any Browns East errrrr Miami Dolphins hype and coachspeak.

Gase is proving to be quite the master. Almost makes you appreciate how Belichick gives you absolutely nothing on anybody, 24/7, 365.
