You also have to factor in that 2nd rounder will be making less money than Ridley, too. So you could add another FA elsewhere for the same cost.

So it's really Ridley and a 3rd or a 2nd rounder and another player of similar contract value to Ridley, in FA.
Spotrac has his market value at $17M/season
FYI there's another path here where the Jaguars don't re-sign him to the conditional deadline of the trade, wait for it to expire, then ink him to a long term deal in FA - therefore keeping him, and only losing the 3rd rounder.

Given that they are the only team that can currently negotiate with him - if he wants to stay, then it would be easy enough to get the outline of said deal in place and have a handshake agreement to sign it once the conditional deadline has passed.
So collusion.

You just have to wonder how much they are willing to gamble on Ridley  :ewink:

We're back in business boys! Tennessee seems like a really interesting spot and they paid him to be a guy. Lets hear thoughts on the landing spot, dynasty value, and projections?

I'll start.

Landing Spot: I like it with Levis and if Hopkins is there. The shell of Hopkins broke 1k yards there, and Levis is going into his 2nd year with a new offense that likely tosses it a bit more, and should have a much improved offensive line. Think Ridley has a chance to move around and be the alpha.
Value: Sell for any 1st, buy for any 2nd.
Projection: 85-1150-7
12 Team - PPR - 30man (2 IR) - 6pt PPTD- 1 QB - 2 RB - 2 WR - 1 Flex - 1 TE
QB: Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, Anthony Richardson, Aidan O'Connell
RB: McCaffrey, Jacobs, Barkley, Zamir White, Jaleel McLaughlin, Dowdle, Zach Evans, Dobbins
WR: AJB, London, Aiyuk, Diontae Johnson, Rashee Rice, Ridley, McLaurin, Dotson, Rashod Bateman
TE: Mandrews, Pitts, Likely, Otton

2024: 1.01, 1.07
2025: 3x 1st
Champ: 2020, 2021
Year 9 of my league

I was going to say...!

In what universe do we think Levis is anywhere near the arm-talent that T-Law is?

And T-Law might not even be -that- good either...

Ahhh FF the eternal optimist! I will tell you that right now, Tennessee’s offense is tied for the best in the NFL.

Titans refused to give 24 y/o AJ Brown 4 years and $100M

But they were okay giving 30 y/o Calvin Ridley 4 years and $92M ???

They also fired Vrabel.

You forget that that $100M back then is worth about $150M now because of inflation the past few years… so this is really about $70M (only partly being facetious).

Still a bad decision IMO.

The hope for that stat line listed before in this thread is that TEN gets behind and they have to throw a lot. Who else is there besides DHop and Ridley?

Pollard. And Spears. And Okonkwo. And maybe Burks. As highlighted above, strong skill position group for a Levis prove-it year.

Not arguing to say Ridley will or won’t do better. My money would be no, but that’s more so about Ridley himself than it is about Lawrence/Levis. But it’s not inconceivable.

Last year:
Lawrence - 251ypg on 35 attempts per game
Levis (excluding Houston game he left after 6 passes) - 224ypg on 31 attempts per game

On a per attempt basis, Levis already was better (at least yardage wise) with a worse supporting cast, as a rookie. Add in a new offensive minded head coach, better weapons, maybe just maybe he improves a little as a player himself over rookie version Levis…who knows.

Why not? While not a full season, Levis was better than TLaw was his first year and he could improve with a revamped offensive line and improved offensive weapons. TLaw himself hasn't been all that great, and lets not forget that Ridley led the NFL in pass interference calls and was deployed as an outside X when he is best at moving around the formation so he can avoid press coverage.

I got laughed at for telling people to buy him for a 2nd last year (in this thread) and I predicted him putting up WR2 numbers with upside for WR1 numbers.
