ArrylT wrote: Sat Sep 28, 2019 11:06 am Looking back, Dorsett might just be a late bloomer - in so much as it relates to his being an NFL WR - his usage with Patriots has been interesting these past few years.

Last year in a thread where a Dorsett supporter made an argument that he had arrived - I said that for Dorsett to truly be involved (for longer than a couple of games) Brady has to trust him and thats a rapport that can take time to develop. I think that level of rapport may have finally been established enough with his work in last years season & playoffs that he may be a more integral target going forward.

He'll still be pretty boom/bust due to Gordon & Edelman, but if one or both of them end up missing time, I am now more open to the idea that Brady will lock onto Dorsett over a longer stretch than 1-2 games. In summary - if the targets continue (talking 5-7) - Dorsett could be this years Lockett (low volume high efficieny production) - so far he's caught all but 1 ball thrown his way.
I added Dorsett and Chark to my dynasty team in a free agent draft, and it turned around my receiving core big time. It added a massive amount of depth to this point, especially after losing Hill. I love what I see from Dorsett, and Brady obviously trusts him. That's huge. I expect pretty consistent wr2 numbers from him in ppr this year.
Dorsett was a late startup add for me and he's been startable the past few weeks. Almost started him last weekend but pulled him out for someone else at the last minute. The downside is he put up a stinker, but the upside is he had 10 targets. If he's finally earned Brady's trust he could be a decent flex for the next few years until Brady hangs it up or until he goes to a new team. Not bad for someone who was completely written off after being overdrafted and flaming out in Indy.

Kevin White - 0 (pace of 0)
DeVante Parker - 229 yards & pace of 735 (had bye Week IV)
Nelson Agholor - 230 yards & pace of 615 (bye week to come)
Breshad Perriman - 16 (pace of 45)
Phillip Dorsett - 197 yards & pace of 790 (did not play Weeks 5 or 6)
Corey Coleman - 0 (pace of 0)
Will Fuller - 444 yards & pace of 1185 (had half of his yardage totals in 1 game)
Josh Doctson - 0 (pace of 0)
Laquon Treadwell - 15 yards & pace of 45 yards (was re-signed by Vikings)
Corey Davis - 237 yards & pace of 630 (has had only 1 game with more than 5 targets)
Mike Williams - 303 yards & pace of 810 (missed Week IV with injury I believe)
John Ross - 328 yards (season ended due to injury)
Ridley - 343 yards & pace of 915 yards (bye week to come)
Moore - 425 yards & pace of 1135 yards (only thing stopping him might be CMC lol)
Harry - 0 (pace of 0)
Marquise Brown - 326 yards & pace of 870 yards (did not play week VI due to injury)

Will Fuller & DJ Moore currently the only WRs on track to break the curse - and only DJ Moore is likely to be one owners trust can do it.

Sutton has 477 yards no bye yet, any reason as to why he didn't make the list

Thanks for doing the updates Arry. I just want to clarify though that it's really only for the 3 year stretch from 2015-2017. If healthy it looks like Fuller will be a hit, which would bump up the percentage to 16% I believe. It's not looking great for anyone else... maybe Mike Williams, maybe John Ross.

Crap there goes my theory that the guy doing this list has a vendetta against Broncos players and that was why he was not listed!

Yeah I figured - but others added or requested the 2018 & 2019 class so I've been updating them as a comparison also. Anyways once Devante Parker plays tonight I'll do an update again, basically the halfway point of the season, and then wait til 12 games to do another.

Yardage updates through 12 games (11 for players) now:

Final update before end of 2019 season

Kevin White - 0 (pace of 0)
DeVante Parker - 695 yards & pace of 1010
Nelson Agholor - 322 yards & pace of 470
Breshad Perriman - 139 yards & pace of 200
Phillip Dorsett - 332 yards & pace of 485 (did not play Weeks 5 or 6 otherwise pace of 575)
Corey Coleman - 0 (pace of 0)
Will Fuller - 590 yards & pace of 860 (missed most of game 7 and all of 8 & 9 otherwise pace of 1175)
Josh Doctson - 0 (pace of 0)
Laquon Treadwell - 84 yards & pace of 125 yards (was re-signed by Vikings)
Corey Davis - 403 yards & pace of 585
Mike Williams - 661 yards & pace of 960 (missed Week IV with injury I believe)
John Ross - 328 yards (season ended due to injury)
Ridley - 699 yards & pace of 1020 yards
Moore - 905 yards & pace of 1320 yards (had bye Week VII)
Harry - 28 yards (averaging 15 yards a game)
Marquise Brown - 519 yards & pace of 755 yards (did not play week VI or VII due to injury otherwise pace of 920)

We now have 4 WRs on pace for 1000 (if you include Williams) and 1 pretty much a lock. The big surprise could be Devante Parker. Fuller could sneak in if he has a couple more of those boom games.

So what are we including as a hit when all is said and done? I see a couple guys who are o pace for a 1000 yards that I wouldn’t be that excited about as a dynasty asset. I rather just have them as a WR3 with upside, which I don’t really think of as a “hit”. Excluding the rookies this year (haven’t seen enough): DJ Moore is someone I’d love to own and start every week long term with Ridley and Fuller being in the next tier of guys I’d be happy about owning. Everyone else is blah.

Yeah, but most of these guys are affordable, try buy Moore. Ain't gonna be cheap.

Guys dominate at dynasty for buying early, low and/or cheap and selling high.

Basically what he said. If you go back to the original premise by Dynasty Delorean - 1st round WRs are basically expected to have 2 1000 yard seasons in order to be deemed successful. And once a WR has a 1 1000 yard season, the odds that they will have a 2nd or more tend to increase - ie once it is proven they can produce they get more chances to repeat.

So basically for the cost of a 3rd or a 4th or an open roster spot in some cases, you may be able to acquire some guys who could still have fantasy value after the initial hype was disappointed.

Plus it is hard to believe this streak of bad luck by 1st round selections has lasted so long - but glad to see DJ Moore is soon set to end it. 8-)
