Am I just going to get hurt again?

Postby WarriorPoet » Wed Sep 29, 2010 5:45 pm

Growing up Irish and Catholic it was a Saturday tradition to watch Notre Dame Football in my home, the last time a solid prospect at QB emerged (Quinn,) I snagged him up in my fantasy draft and waited, knowing that one day he would redefine the position, and lead Cleveland to greatness. Well, I waited, and waited, and watched Derek Anderson go to the Pro-Bowl, and waited. Finally when it seemed like Quinn would get his chance to shine!, he didn't. Then they back to DA, and back to Quinn. After this went on for a while, Quinn got a legit shot, and won the last 6 games of the season! Then he was unceremoniously given the boot when Holmgren showed up and cleaned house.
Well, I did it again. I had an early 3rd round pick this year, and Clausen was on the board. So I took him, is QB situation in CAR just going to go back and forth between Moore and Clausen as John Fox tries to save his job, am I just going to get hurt again?

This season? yes.... moving forward, however, I see Clausen as having a legit shot to hold down the starting job.

Brady Quinn was never really given the chance to be THE guy for more than a few games. Some team needs to do exactly that and he´ll prove all the doubters wrong!

Not sure about Claussen... everytime I see him I´m thinking "immatureness" and something else..

Claussen has ALWAYS had more tools and talent than Quinn.

I can honestly say I am not a fan of either of them. I wouldn't expect much but it is way too early to be down on Claussen if you were high on him before. He needs time.

Seems like everyone from Notre Dame always seems to be a bit overrated, I remember when they thought that Ron Powlus was going to win 4 Heismans   With Claussen, you're going to have to be patient, and give it a few years, as he does look better than Quinn

Yeah it goes with mystique of Notre Dame. I DO however love Golden Tate and Michael Floyd. I think they will both do well in the NFL

It's weird that the most recent success story out of ND is an underrated RB, can anyone guess his name?

A lot of the problems I see currently with Notre Dame I think come from the trustees and powers-that-be being delusional. I think they were too quick to fire Ty Willingham, and too quick to extend Charlie Weis, just to name a couple of things. I think its also funny to listen to the NBC announcers gush over Notre Dame players and how they used to gush about coach Weis all the time, its weird to have your own National Network covering your games, and its easy to get really big-headed if you play or coach at Notre Dame.

Tate does look like he has a promising future. And I hope he does as I have him locked up for four years in my 16 team contract league :D

Yeah, I can see a Tate/Butler/Carlson Trio in SEA with Whitehurst at the helm. If only the could choose a RB...
