Rookie Rankings

Is it too early in the season to reexamine who the top rookies in the 17 class? Not in reference to just this year's performance but seeing how they have performed at the NFL level. Is there a consensus top rookie right now. Seems like the top three would be between Hunt, Cook and Davis to me.

If we're measuring off of on-field production, it's clear Hunt >>> the rest of the entire class.

Hunt, Fournette, then probably go Mixon, CMC, Cook, Davis. Its really early and still talking dynasty, so Hunt is the obvious leap. He still was well regarded in rpokie drafts, just not in the top tier for most. Still too early to know about the TEs, but the big 3 are at least getting on the field and doing something early on in the season,

It is too early, if the only new info we have is the 3 games played so far it has to be....
Hunt
Cooks
Fournette

After that I don't think it would change much. In saying that I'm sure fournette and Davis would still go no1 in most cases as this is dynasty yada yada yada. I guess what I'm saying is hunt would make a fair leap and the rest wouldn't change much.

x2 I completely agree

Hunt has been able extremely efficient, while touching the ball considerably less than both Cook and Fournette.

Hunt - 47 rushes - 401 yards / 9 rec - 137 yards
Cook - 61 rushes - 288 yards / 10 rec - 82 yards
Fournette - 57 rushes - 199 yards / 8 rec - 66 yards

The kid is a STUD.

Stats aside, Fournette looks the best on tape to me, and it really isn't even close, although Dalvin is looking better than I expected. Hunt had been very good, yes, but I think most of the credit should go to the phenomenal job the coaching staff has been doing setting Hunt/Hill/Kelcd up to succeed.

Hunt has leapfrogged almost all of the rookies if we were redrafting rookies, but Engram has also leapfrogged all the TEs and separated himself quite a bit.

He doesn't look like a rookie TE out there, the kid is a player.

Top 15ish rookies for me (off the top of my head - primarily play PPR):
*** Tier 1 ***
Fournette
Hunt
Cook
*** Tier 2 *** (more like 1.5 - much closer to tier 1 than tier 3)
Davis
CMC
Mixon
*** Tier 3 ***
Kamara
Cohen
Engram
Mike Williams
Ross
Foreman
Howard
Kupp
Golladay

I think it's important now that they we know a bit more about their situations that we take into account the context of their play. Hunt has obviously been phenomenal, but I suspect Cook, CMC or Fournette would be seeing similar production in his spot. Fournette has produced at a much higher level than people gave him a chance for going into this season. Cook had a terrible game in there but two great performances, fair to blame the second game on the entire offense though. CMC had a bit of a slow start (which we expected) but that last game just...wow, he's the best receiver on the team by a pretty fair margin to my eyes. If Cam were playing well I think he's the one we'd all be looking at as one of the top options.

Also, not that they haven't been ugly, but I think Deshone Kizer is putting up WAY more fantasy points than anyone expected so far.

Nitpicking here but how is 12/64 for cook a bad game?

If I were to re-draft my rookie draft now, below are the order I would draft each in. Keep in mind that I'm generally a little more reactive in dynasty than most. I think in general the dynasty community is too slow to react on things. Dynasty rankings vary WILDLY from one year to the next, but too often people are content to sit back and assume everyone is going to settle back in to where they were valued at the start of the year.

1) Hunt
2) Cook
3) Fournette
4) Mixon
5) Davis
6) McCaffrey

I am the opposite. I have been a Fournette truther since he was a fresman. I have him in every league I'm in. But to me, Hunt just looks like a better football player. Obviously situation plays a huge role in production but I'm trying not to focus on production.

Fournette obviously has to deal with playing in traffic a lot more, but I have seen a lot less of THIS or THIS type of running from Fournette in that traffic I would have liked.

Clearly, I need to start predicting broken legs for starters so I can draft the right back at 1.01 in the future. :ewink:

God I hate RBs... use to love 'em. But now... hate 'em, hate 'em, hate 'em. :x

Not sure I'm following. I'm talking about people being too slow to adjust after the season begins and as it goes on.
