Theilen is undervalued in my opinion. I think this is awfully close.

Thielen inflated his #'s with that one monster game but gadget players don't usually translate to FF.

Yeah, I agree that game definitely inflated his numbers. At the same time, I watched the entirety of that game and "gadget player" definitely didn't cross my mind. More like, "are we seeing a guy that is about to break out in a big way?". His value is probably tied to Treadwell's emergence (or lack thereof) somewhat, and also that offense in general I suppose. If Treadwell doesn't take the next step, Theilen will continue to be undervalued, because he certainly isn't going to get beat out by Michael freaking Floyd. Diggs will Diggs, but Theilen is their 2nd best option in the passing game. I guess I'm not a big Samuel guy either. He's more of a gadget player to me than Theilen.

I'd prefer the guy with greater upside and it's Samuel easily IMO.

Sorry Brian, I was implying Samuel is the gadget player but was too lazy to create two sentences or throw in a comma.

I went ahead and took Thielen. I think he's a good player and provides a little insurance for Treadwell

I don't know if I buy in or it's all just coach speak, but the word in Minnesota is that treadwell has been making strides and has a better understanding of the playbook and looks impressive this offseason

How can it be worse?

Anyway, I would rather have Theilen since I know he can produce in the NFL. I like Samuel but I have to see that Carolina play calling will be creative enough to get Samuel the ball in situations where he can succeed. Plus I would like to see how they plan to use both CMC and Samuel together to get a better feel of Samuel's true value.

Theilen had 20 catches in his first two years. It takes time to learn the WR position. Not pretending Treadwell is a star in the making but he's going super cheap these days.

I think that Adam Thielen is a good real football player. Good routes, hands, etc... but I'd rather have the theoretical upside of Samuel on my team.
