Would you rather draft from the 2spot or 4spot?
Would you rather draft from the 2spot or 4spot?
12 team redraft PPR league, can start 3RBs/3WRs or 2RBs/4WRs
I have 5th dibs on where I can draft from. So far, the 1, 3, 6, and 8 spots have been taken.
I would like to get 1 of the 4 top RBs, and then get a WR or 2 with my 2nd/3rd round picks. I was also thinking about taking the 5spot, and grabbing Andre Johnson.
The draft is August 31st, so plenty of time for injuries to happen. My main concern with the 1.4 spot is that if 1 of the big RBs gets injured in preseason, then that draft spot kinda sucks. Also the 2spot gets better dibs in WRs in round 3.
But I'm also leaning towards the 4spot because that'll put me in the same division as an inexperienced fantasy player (who grabbed 1.1). If I have the 2spot, I'm in the division with the guy who drafts 8th, and he always puts together strong teams.

I'd take the 2 spot as I prefer to get either MJD or AP.

I'd rather draft from the 4 spot, as to me, that is the optimal pick in this year's draft. You are guaranteed to get one of the big 4 players, most likely Ray Rice who I love, and then you pick two spots sooner in round two which could make a big difference in what stud RB or WR you are able to grab.

Re: Would you rather draft from the 2spot or 4spot?
Yeah, I'm leaning towards the 4spot.
I'm not really too concerned about the 1st round pick as long as all 4 of the studs stay healthy. I like Rice as much as MJD, and there's a chance that Rice will go 1.2 anyways, pushing AP or MJD to me.
My big dilemna is that I'd like to go WR/WR in the 2nd & 3rd round, but there's a dividing line where I'd pull back on grabbing a WR in the 3rd. The guys at the end of that line are Sidney, Jennings, DeSean, and (maybe) Colston.
Having the 1.2 pick lowers me on my first WR pickup, but raises the chance that I get 2 anchor WRs.

Earlier the better. Don't know how anyone could have possibly chosen a pick outside the top 4 in a draft with a clear top 4 and a monster break afterwards. Take the 2 pick. You can go back and forth "two picks higher in the 2nd, two picks lower in the 3rd" and so on. Step up, pick the #2 guy you like the most and build your team around that stud and two awesome picks at end of 2nd early 3rd.

Re: Would you rather draft from the 2spot or 4spot?
I ended up going #4. I like ray rice as much or better than AP or MJD.
The guy who has the #3 pick went MJD/Calvin last year to start the draft. I think he'll take MJD again which is what I'd like him to do. And in case he still likes Calvin, I want to be the one who snakes him in the 2nd round, in case Calvin lasts till 2.9. Otherwise I mike Marshall & Austin there, and not sure if those guys would make it to 2.11

Re: Would you rather draft from the 2spot or 4spot?
It's a redraft league. You just gave up on two guys who are locks for being top 5 RBs for the hope that Rice repeats as one. Hopefully you are right. For the same reason, you want other owners to grab Calvin who has yet to show the consistency to be a top WR in a redraft format. You want someone who is a lock to put up top 5 numbers like Reggie Wayne.jordanzs wrote:I ended up going #4. I like ray rice as much or better than AP or MJD.

I forgot I was in the redraft forum...

Honestly I like 5 or 6. If I can land Gore, and then have an earlier pick coming back around, I'll take that all day long. I think Gore will post elite-like numbers this season

In a ppr redraft league, where would you rank AP? I'd rank him 4th. I've seen football guys also rank him there in PPR (in standard leagues, he's a definite #2). If I was drafting today & had the 2nd pick, I'd take Ray Rice.

CJ and AP are the top 2 in ppr or non-ppr leagues IMO...jordanzs wrote:In a ppr redraft league, where would you rank AP? I'd rank him 4th. I've seen football guys also rank him there in PPR (in standard leagues, he's a definite #2). If I was drafting today & had the 2nd pick, I'd take Ray Rice.
