Mariota or Newton in Superflex

Looking to trade Newton for Mariota in a superflex. How big of a difference is there? What, if anything, would have to be added to the Mariota side?

Something like a Diggs, Jeffrey or D Thomas type of WR?

They're pretty darn even in adp for that kind of format, as far as I can tell. I'd prefer Mariotta, personally, but don't think the Cam side should add much more than a mid 2nd

Yea I'd take Mariota over Cam pretty easily. No way I would add to Mariota in any of the leagues I have him in for Cam

Cam isn't the type of QB who is going to age well, IMO. His fantasy production has always been heavily influenced by his ability to gain rushing yards/td's. As he nears 30 and the punishment begins to take it's toll (we certainly saw evidence in '16), Cam will have a hard time producing as a top level QB. In Dynasty I think I prefer Mariota straight up at this point.

It may really come down to the owner's opinion of both mariota and cam. I was not huge on Cam to begin with even after his big year, and him ranked similarly to Mariota last year. Personally I would take mariota straight up over cam right now and I don't see that changing.

Cam has an MVP season under his belt, so let's not anoint Mariota just yet. Cam has his warts, but he has so far proven that he deserves to be in the top 5 conversation for the next couple of years. They were banged up offensively last year, and he was hit constantly. I agree his game needs to change for the sake of his longevity, but he's a year removed from an age 26 MVP season. I like what Tennessee is doing in terms of team building: focus on the line - hopefully they give Mariota a true WR1 this year.

Agree with others. I was never big on Cam even after the 2015 season. When I watch him he just doesn't play like an elite or top end fantasy QB. And he will not be able to depend on them legs forever. Specially since he thinks it's better to hit players before he goes down instead of going down before the hit comes.

So to get Mariota for Cam the owner will have to want Cam. Maybe throw in Perriman or 2.01 to get the ball rolling.

I prefer Mariota and wouldn't be adding anything to him to get Cam.

I prefer Mariota as well. Cam is still young and has an MVP season under his belt but Carolina doesn't seem too interested in giving Cam much help whether it be offensive linemen, good WRs or younger RBs. Things could change this year, but Gettleman seems to prefer drafting defense. Tennessee seems to be building the offense around Mariota. Gaining offensive linemen, later picks on WRs, signing and drafting quality RBs and we may see them draft a stud WR this year or multiple WRs. I don't know if I'd add anything to either Cam or Mariota, but I think it will come down to owner preference.
