This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Draft question - redraft league

Postby pretender » Fri Jul 16, 2010 11:07 am

12 teams, start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR 1 TE 1K 2 DL 3 LB 3 DB - no flex .5 pts per reception
TD 4 pts; 1 pt per 60 yds passing; .5 per completion -1 interception
6 pts all other TD's receiving/rushing/returns - 1 pt per 20 yds rushing/receiving
tackles 1.5, assists .75, sacks 1.75, FR 2, FF.5, interceptions 2pts, .5 pd - punt/ko return yardage .25 per 10 yds
FG missed -1, xp missed - 1 - all FG 3 pts.

We are going into the 7th round her is who I have drafted and where - I am in the 1.09 -2.04 spot serpentine draft 36 rounds.

1.09 9. Manning, Peyton IND QB Wed Jul 14 10:59:28 a.m. CT 2010 I am avoiding the Madden curse.
2.04 16. Jackson, Steven STL RB Wed Jul 14 5:58:50 p.m. CT 2010 Pick made based on Pre-Draft List
3.09 33. Jennings, Greg GBP WR Thu Jul 15 8:06:52 a.m. CT 2010
4.04 40. Thomas, Pierre NOS RB Thu Jul 15 1:57:20 p.m. CT 2010 Pick made based on Pre-Draft List
5.09 57. Finley, Jermichael GBP TE Fri Jul 16 7:25:12 a.m. CT 2010
6.04 64. Ward, Hines PIT WR

where would you go with the next pick - I am thinking either LB or RB or WR - top linebackers left at this time (I am about 7 picks away - Lofton, Poz, DJ, Dansby I am pretty sure Lofton and Poz will be gone by my pick

possible RB's are Addai, Reggie Bush, Spiller, Michael Bush, MBIII
some WR's are Maclin, Hester, Garcon Collie

I have lots of week 10 bye players so at this point I don't care about bye weeks.

pretender, dlf has recently started a forum specifically for re-drafts and keeper leagues vs. dynasty. Here is the link - http://www.dynastyleaguefootball.com/dl ... m.php?f=50

You might have better luck with your question there :) I would pass on my advice, but I've never done IDP, so don't wanna mess you up. One thing I did notice however, is Spiller listed with Addai, Bush, Bush, Barber. In a re-draft he doesn't belong that high. Situation is horrible for 2010 and RBBC situation is worse than Barbers. Good luck

thanks for the heads up on the other thread - I play almost all dynasty and redraft is a different animal. I was thinking with Spiller that he would make a nice bye week filler at RB but perhaps you are correct on his value - Jackson is still available too. Would he be a better choice? I really have a bad feel for tiering and redraft value in redraft leagues.
Thanks again airlex

I personally like Jackson over Spiller in a re-draft...but if I had my choice from your list above I would go Addai or Maclin hands-down (at least for offensive players).

For some good insight into re-draft, you should check out fantasy sharks or fantasy docs. They're both pretty good resources.

It could just be me, but I prefer to fill out my offensive starters before turning to IDPs. (Round 7 is to early for my tastes). So, I would fill your 3rd WR slot. If there was a great value just sitting there at RB I would take that, but based on the info you have provided it appears that is not the case.
So, of the WRs you listed I would draft them in the order you listed them.

Jeremy Maclin is available in the 7th rd??? Lol!!! I realize this is redraft, but that's absurd.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
