Who will manipulate their draft stock this year?
Who will manipulate their draft stock this year?
Every year we see players slide in the draft to their favorite destination (no income tax). Who will torpedo their draft stock to avoid the very undesirable San Fran and Chicago destinations? Other notables: Titans, Jets, and Chargers pick early again.
My guess is Jonathan Allen would prefer to slide to Jacksonville like Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack last year. I'm already hearing that he's showing weak/damaged shoulders that the first 6 or 7 teams should be concerned about.

Damn, hadn't really considered that. Nice.

I really don't think he needed to run a bad combine performance to drop his stock out of the top few picksonetwothree wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2017 8:13 am Um Dalvin Cook?

How about Jonathan Allen? Not ideal for him to land in SF nor Chicago.

Why not? I'm curious on these thoughts. Just because they are bad teams right now? Or schematically?

Why do you post the weirdest things? Also, you're begging the question.

Re: Who will manipulate their draft stock this year?
Yeah I usually figure it'd be offensive skill players who want to avoid bad teams. Chicago has some up and coming talent on D and Niners have added to the line last 2 drafts.
Re: Who will manipulate their draft stock this year?
For a few reasons:
1. SanFran and Chicago are on the avoid list of many player agents because of their dysfunction
2. The high income taxes they will pay for atleast half of their salary
3. Bad scheme will suppress production and ultimately the payoff on the 2nd contract.
Imo, J Allen would rather slide to Jacksonville (just signed C Cambell, tho) even if it means a %age pay cut on the front end of a non-negotiable rookie deal. The payoff could be huge in year 4 or 5 if he goes and posts double-digit sacks as a 5-tech DE, as opposed to a being a bit player in Chi or SF.
Yes, these players are very vested into where they could land for the next four years. You'd be foolish to assume they're not. We're only talking about a hundred million bucks or so, give or take.

You're in the wrong forum if you want advice on which rb to keep in your 10-team local keeper league.

Strawman. I'm all in favor of complexity and in-depth discussion. This (like most of your threads) is just such a weird, non-helpful idea based on a premise that doesn't even necessarily exist.

Reports out of Chicago had the team struggling to woo free agents due to organizational instability coming off a 3-13 season. The Bears were forced to severely overpay backup-caliber players Wheaton, CB Marcus Cooper, TE Dion Sims, and QB Mike Glennon.
In all fairness, Cleveland looks to have it together compared to the Bears and Niners. It is obvious which team has an executable plan, and which does not.
Ranter, hanging around on my every last word is a clear indication that your ego is threatened. There's just no other explanation.

Bruiser is going to torpedo his posting credibility to manipulate his league draft.Bruiser wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2017 5:42 am Every year we see players slide in the draft to their favorite destination (no income tax).
