I didn't really care where Alshon went, I just thought he needed a change of scenery. I like this move, I'll send out some offers.

Only a 1 year deal...that's quite strange.

As someone who traded for Alshon for pennies on the dollar I'm very happy. This is why I gambled on him, so that he could go to a better situation and prove his worth as a top 10-15 WR

They figure that's probably about 10 games. Just being cautious.

Should help out JMatt and Ertz...keep them in single coverage

Does this mean Agholor and DGB are waiver wire material if they weren't already?

Prove it / prove yourself healthy on and off the field type deal. Good news for C.Wentz. Prob not so good of news for DGB. Good news for Eagles fans maybe. Prob actually helps J.Matthews stay in the slot where he was more effective as well. Now he (j.Matthews) can be the wr2 with occasional wr1 upside production that he was the whole time.

At this point, you feel Philly will probably try to sell Agholor or DGB. Plenty of WR needy teams out there, pre-draft (SF/LA/BUF)

I agree. Matthews is an effective WR2 for them and should not have been asked to be playing the role of a WR1. The Eagles still need to address their backfield but this is a great addition for Wentz.

Alshon gets to go back on the market in his prime while still getting the annual average he wanted. Eagles assume very little risk and have a year to carve out cap space if he ends up being worth the investment.

I'm so glad I ended up with Wentz over Goff...

Not the contract I was expecting, though it obviously makes sense. We likely overestimated what teams would be willing to commit, assuming they would go for the upside and overlook the risk. Big year for Alshon with lots of incentive to come in hot. Good situation for owners. Plus we get to have fun again next offseason potentially.

The JMatt outcome is uncertain to me. I agree it is good to have other weapons now, but I'm also pessimistic on his true upside. WR2 is what i see, but will be valuing at WR3 to be safe. May see what his price is with the perceived threat of all these other acquisitions potentially suppressing his value to a worthwhile purchase.
