Value of Newton/Dak on a 1QB Dynasty Team

Trying to value a potential trade. My orphan team QB is Rivers, who I think has a couple good years in him still. I am OK finding waiver QBs but there is an owner with Dak and Cam and he wants my 2.01. How valuable is going younger at QB?

Rivers is fine for a few more years. In a 1QB league, you don't need to pay for a QB.

I would pay that in a heartbeat for either of those Qbs. But it's a toss up between the two, just pick whichever one you like better.

This is true to some extent. I like having insurance though, especially with an aging QB. If Rivers goes down, you're stuck with whatever is on the waiver wire. I prefer to carry 2 solid QBs so my team isn't affected if my main QB goes down. To each his own I guess

This logic is true. However, in the deal, he is trading away Rivers. So he would still only have one QB, without the 1st pick of the 2nd round. If Cam or Prescott go down, he is screwed as well and lost another potential starter in his 2nd round pick.

In the Rookie/FA draft, the experienced QBs of note that will be available are Tannehill, ASmith, Bradford, Garroppolo, Cutler and Savage. Depending on his landing spot, Garroppolo may be interesting or possibly Tannehill to back up Rivers???

I keep Rivers ( primed for a great yr with Allen back ) and use that 2.01 for a TE to eventually replace Olsen

Try offering your 2.01 for Dak/Cam first. If he rejects, then maybe throw in Siemian, but I wouldn't give up the pick and Rivers in a 1QB league.

But won't that still be true if whoever he acquires gets hurt? Especially Cam who is going to have a short career by QB standards.

No reason at all to make this move...2.01 gets you a solid player and I am not even sure if Cam or Dak is an upgrade to Rivers. Dak maybe because of his age, but I would not pay what people think Cam is worth. People seem to think 2016 was a down year for him...I feel bad for those people.
